I'm currently looking for some new writers in order to expand the blog given that I can't post the amount of things I'd like to. So if you are interested in writing about anything related to music (news, TV shows, album reviews, introducing artists) just drop me an email to musicisthedoor@gmail.com and we can discuss some of your ideas.

I'M LOOKING FOR A NORWEGIAN TRANSLATOR, IF INTRESETED, EMAIL ME
This are the final audition episodes, in the next two days, the contestans will face bootcamp in the hopes of becoming one of the lucky 40 contestants who will advance to the semi finals. But first, the judges have to audition another bunch of hopefuls hoping that a superstar is among them ...
Recap after the JUMP ...
Auditions 5
Fredrik Bertheussen Brurås (18) - He's singing "Use Somebody" and it's definitely not what I was expecting at all. He's got a really unique smooth voice, not the raspy voice you would expect from this guy. It's all very pleasant and relaxed. He reminds me a little to James Blunt, but not really. Haha. Just some of his notes. Plus, I suspect he's got a sob story. - VIDEO
Hilde Osland (24) - She's going to be the next Norwegian Idol, or that's what she assures us. And you know what? She may after that. Or at least get a great position. There's a really jazzy vibe coming from her but it's also something really contemporary, and her tone is really quirky. Her face looks really similar to Megan Joy's actually! Haha. Another plus for her. - VIDEO
Kristina Botnen (30) - Her voice is actually really good but she looks kinda uncomfortable whil singing. Still, she's got a beautiful folky tone, almost country driven. That song isn't that great either but she's got something special I like. I'd like to see more from her. - VIDEO
Karin Lise Kvamme (20) - She's singing "My Funny Valentine" but it's not the boring jazz performance you are probably expecting. This girl is doing it alla Blake Lewis style, remember the beatboxing guy from American Idol? Well, she's doing the same thing, with the only exception she's a hundred times better. This is a really interesting bit of audition! Really great. - VIDEO
Maria Sandsdalen (27) - It's Bertine's turn to find a conestant. She's at a church, at a wedding! Haha. It's getting a bit ridiculous to find this contestants in the most akward times ever. Maria is the wedding singer and performs a beautiful song for the newlyweds.
Vegard Leite (19) - He joined the competition to have fun, when asked what's he's dream, his first answer isn't the expected, he doesn't really know, he wants to sings in pubs he says. Gunnar gets really, really pissed at him. His voice is actually really special, there's a folky sound, but also there's a lot of rock there, all if we keep aside the fact that he's singing Chris Medina's dreadful song. They all tease Gunnar now, he made a huge mistake on calling this one out. Haha. They all rave about how great was that, Marion even says it's Bergens best audition. - VIDEO, VIDEO (with English subs, YouTube)
Auditions 6
Kim Erik Tolleshaug (18) - He's got a really old fashioned voice, I don't really like this at all, it's actually very boring. But the judges seem to like this flamboyant guy, so they put him through, probably to cut him tomorrow. - VIDEO
Hallvard Mostrøm (22) - Mmm .. Interesting tone, it seems like he's just not trying, like his voice just flows. I like it though, there's a certain rasp there. It sounds a little similar to Damien Rice, much worse obviously. - VIDEO
And it's time for the short auditions. First is Nathalie Linde Jensen (22) from who we saw 10 secs of a great, kinda theatrical audition (VIDEO), followed by Marita Weløy (23) who impresses the judges with her big voice while belting "Listen" (VIDEO). Closing is Carl Espen Thorbjørnsen (28) whose amazing folky voice would give Bon Iver a run for his money. (VIDEO) I seriously don't get why this auditions don't get a little more air time, cause they were great!
Christer Sjølie af Geijerstam (18) - Oh god. This is so weird. He's a massive joke, and he didn't look like one! He pulls or sort of crazy bad moves all while singing a horrible falsetto, which sounded like an awful Michael Jackson impersonation. He sings like a normal person after that, and it's a lil better, though he still sucks. Nothing interesting there, however, the judges seem to like that, so this weirdo is through. - VIDEO
Alf Johannes Agcaoili Borge (26) - He brings ice creams to the judges. A little bribe? Haha. His voice is good but not that special. He's got a sweet tone but I'm not that impressed. I guess the ice creams must have been really good. Haha. - VIDEO
Hanna Romøren (19) - Marion's turn to get us a contestant, again? Well, I can't complain. She's auditioning her in a golf court, and Hanna performs a really sweet version of "At Last". It's really special. I liked that, wonder how does she sound with music ... - VIDEO
Ragnhild Margrethe Andersen (19) - She's a supermarket worker who's singing "Summertime", in a spectacular way. It's a very haunting performance, there's lots of power in her voice and a lot of amazing qualities there. She's a goosebump inducing performer! And we end the auditions in a huge note! - VIDEO
Hallvard Mostrøm (22) - Mmm .. Interesting tone, it seems like he's just not trying, like his voice just flows. I like it though, there's a certain rasp there. It sounds a little similar to Damien Rice, much worse obviously. - VIDEO
