I'm currently looking for some new writers in order to expand the blog given that I can't post the amount of things I'd like to. Eurovision 2012: The Final Recap!

WATCH THE FINAL HERE!
20 entrys have advanced to the grand final, joinin the Big Five and Azerbaijan, who had an unfair advantage over the other countries. A total of 26 acts will perform tonight but in the end, only one will be named the winner and will take Eurovision back home. Will it be frontrunner Sweden or will an underdog take the title away from Loreen?
Recap after the JUMP ...
Recap after the JUMP ...
This recap will be a little different than the previous ones. Instead of repeating myself with what I said in the previous rounds, I'll just won't write about the semi-final songs, I'll only write about the Big 5 and Azerbaijan. Check the first semi and second semi recaps if you want to know what I think of the other entries.
*Ell and Nikki open the show with their winning song "Running Scared". I still think it wasn't such a good one. She looks gorgeous though.
*Baku's Crystal Hall took 7th months to be built, we are seeing it in less than 60 seconds.
*UK's song is much better than in the previous years, still, very boring. Engelbert Humperdinck is a good singer and "Love Will Set You Free" isn't a bad song at all, but the whole melody felt dated to me. The staging was nice though, pretty simple, but that can't win the show for someone. 7/10
*Whoever suggested that hairpiece Rona is using is a very creepy person. Didn't they realize it'd make her look like Medusa?
*After picking an operatic dude last year, France really had to bring it with their entry. So who's their pick? Anggun's "Echo (You and I)". Not a bad song but it seems to be more focused on the male half naked dancers behind her than on the music. And there's no wonder why they did that cause they are the most interesting thing of this performace, as well as Anggun's flying dress. However, I can't say the same thing about the song. 6/10

*Italy did it again. For a second year in a row they've selected a
beautiful song to represent them with the gorgeous Nina Zilli singing it. The song is both in
English and Italian such as Raphael Gualazzi's "Follia d'amore", a
combination that has worked so well for them in the previous year. (They
placed #2) "L'amore è femmina (Out of Love)" is a wonderful jazzy tune, picture a
female version of "Follia d'amore". This is a must for the Top 10. 9/10
*People actually think Tooji is good at anything? He's an awful singer and an even worst dancer. I can't belive people actually voted for him in Norway. He's like the gay rip-off of Eric Saade, someone that was already afwul the first time around.
*The host really delivered this year. I honestly didn't like their
winning entry much but I'm totally in love with Sabina's "When the Music
Dies". It's hard for a country to win twice in a row so Sabina will
definitely not win but she will fall trying. She reminds me greatly to
Christina Aguilera and I belive Sabina will become as big as Xtina
did. The lights reflecting in her dress were surprisingly hypnotical and looked quite beautiful, clever to display the best light effects for the host. 9,5/10
*Why is Greece competing? Can they even afford hosting the show? They must be praying they don't actually win. They don't have anything to worry though, their song is bloody awful. Fun fact, the winner gets to pay for Greece's trip back home!
*Loreen is more epic each time she performs. The stylist gets some props to, the outfit selection is a fab one, that dress makes her epilepsic dancing even more amazing. Interesting to see it's snowing in a closed stadium too.
*Lys Assia, Switzerland's Eurovision first winner in the house!
*Lys Assia, Switzerland's Eurovision first winner in the house!
*Turkey's entry seems more low budget with each performance. The idiotic guy is an awful dancer too, even worse than Tooji. Remember I wanted to punch his stupid face? Now that I'm paying attention to his dancing I also want to break his legs. The performance was quite lulzy though, right?
*I speak Spanish but I usually hate songs in it. I really don't know
why but it always seems to be the case. Spain has never really wowed
me in Eurovision either so I was more than surprised to see I loved
their entry. Pastora Soler's got such a passionate voice that she
doesn't need the usual distractions mediocre singers use. She's alone, center stage, nailing the vocals as I expected her to do. I feel quite prod of her actually, for no particular reason. Interesting fact, the songwriter, Thomas G:son, is the one who wrote "Euphoria". Could he have his two songs in the Top 5? 9/10
*Germany is giving us another great song this year. After Lena's two shots at the title, they decided it was finally time to change their representant, picking Roman Lob to do so. "Standing Still" is a great song but not as good as Lena's. That said, I'm not sure Roman can win this but still, the song deserves a shot. Maybe a Top 10 placing. 8/10
*The Top 5 really brought it this year! Well, more than Italy, Spain and Germany, all with a shot at the title. They should feel really proud.
*We've got some cheese left to go, Malta, Ireland and Moldova, three entries I wish never existed. Plus performances from Macedonia, Serbia and Ukranie, which should be at least somewhat interesting. Also watch out for the Ukranian bride return.

Yes, Nikki is super hot in that barely there dress.
UK: Nice little song, but will be well forgotten
Tough luck Hungary going so early.
May 26, 2012 at 4:25 PM
Albania, another one that will get screwed by the order :(
May 26, 2012 at 4:48 PM
Wow, I expected more impact from France. Song is sort of just laying there. Disappointing.
May 26, 2012 at 4:58 PM
I agree, Italy was great, but I think Estonia should win this. The song was great, sung well and the staging was breathtaking.
May 26, 2012 at 4:59 PM
Estonia has such a good entry <3 They won't win though, the contest is Loreen's to lose.
May 26, 2012 at 5:01 PM
Yeah, I can't wait for Loreen. Maybe Estonia gets top 5, he deserves it.
May 26, 2012 at 5:06 PM
Azerbaijan: wow, after that cheese that won last year, this is just exquisite. I didn't want it to end.
May 26, 2012 at 5:08 PM
Right? They probably have one of the best songs, they won't win either though :( Twice in a row is impossible
May 26, 2012 at 5:24 PM
I think Loreen nailed it, next year is Oslo.
May 26, 2012 at 5:27 PM
More like Stockholm Chess. Haha

This is so five years ago. Do big diva ballads work in Eurovision?
May 26, 2012 at 5:35 PM
Germany: song is ok, sort of feels like teen pop. This guy could emigrate and win Idol.
May 26, 2012 at 5:37 PM
Fun fact, Roman was a contestant on German Idol. Haha. And you didn't like Pastora? I love her entry
May 26, 2012 at 5:39 PM
I liked it, just that diva ballads seem so 90's.

A three minute intro to a pop song?
May 26, 2012 at 6:44 PM
Western and Southern Europe going hard for Sweden!
May 26, 2012 at 7:22 PM
Russia got a big amount of thrown away votes, like Jedward got last year.
