Eurovision 2011: Slovenia's Entry: Maja Keuc: No One
2:41 PM
Published by MDS
A former contestant of Slovenia's Got Talent in 2010, Maja Keuc is now the country's entry for Eurovision, hoping that this talented singer will break the sixteen Slovenian defeats. With a rather supernatural air, Maja breaks into big notes while walking through the woods with a microphone and several ninjas trying either to kill her for her amazing singing skills or for revealing their hiding spot. Well, someone prevent them from killing her! That would be tragic! The best Eurovision singer killed by a group of wierd dancing ninjas!

Eurovision 2011: Bulgaria's Entry: Poli Genova: Na inat
2:18 PM
Published by MDS
Having only made it to the final only once, where they came 5th, in six attempts, Eurovision is clrearly a deception among Blugarian watchers. So, they selected Poli Genova. She's been trying to represent the country for four years, so they thought, why not? Poli has a great voice, a cool look and will sing in our national language, let's pick her! Yeah, that's what they said. Now, Bulgaria is hoping they made the right decision. Will Poli make it to the final? Will she win? I'll tell you this, Poli is a great singer and may crack into the final, even in a top 10 position but to win this, you may want to consider an English song ...

Eurovision 2011: Denmark's Entry: A Friend In London: New Tomorrow
2:05 PM
Published by MDS
Fronted by Tim Schou, this indie rock band will certainly end their Eurovision run with a great position. With a really soft voice, the song lyrics are really easy to understand. It's actually impressive to see him performing, you'll never expect that voice looking at his face! He seems to be about to make sick rock shouts, instead, the song advances pleasantly with some moments in it, making it one of the best songs this year. Denmark's 3rd victory? Probably!

Eurovision 2011: Latvia's Entry: Musiqq: Angel in Disguise
12:16 PM
Published by MDS
Oh! What a nice surprise! Great song, great voices and so catchy! I love it when they mix soulful voices with rappers and that's exactly what they do! Having only won Eurovision once, in 2002 with Marie N and having not made it to the final for two years, Latvia will be back on the game this one! Musiqq's song is modern and fresh and I know that it'll captivate the audience like it did to me! Will they win? Not exactly, but they'll make it to the final! At least Latvia will be happy!

Eurovision 2011: Israel's Entry: Dana International: Ding Dong
12:05 PM
Published by MDS
Winner of the Eurovision in 1998, one of the world's most famous transsexuals, Dana International, is back once more with her self penned song "Ding Dong". What can I say? I don't dig this at all! Good vocals but a really lame song. I still don't get it if the song is about ringing a bell or about calling someone, either way, it's equally cheesy and boring. Good to have you back? Not really, but good try!

Eurovision 2011: Ireland's Entry: Jedward: Lipstick
11:28 AM
Published by MarkC
The infamous Jedward duo is here! Sadly, though, I can't say it was worth the wait. Jedward's "Lipstick" attempts to be funny in their typical, slapstick style, but the effect feels forced and ultimately is pretty short on the jokes, as is the video. Disappointing, really; it captures none of the magic that made them one of the most endearing guilty pleasures UK's X-Factor has seen. If this was going to be the end product, maybe Ireland should have tried to field an act with an actual shot of winning?

Eurovision 2011: Belarus's Entry: Anastasia Vinnikova: I Love Belarus
11:28 AM
Published by MarkC
Considering the multinational affair that is Eurovision, it's actually somewhat surprising that more of the submitted songs actually aren't more frequently nationalist self-promotion pieces. That said, maybe it's because few of them actually turned out better than "I Love Belarus". The "up! with! Belarus!" anthem is an embarrassingly corny attempt at mixing post-disco with a traditional dulcimer. Things are helped little by a video which includes dancers who would feel kitschy and overdone on "It's A Small World", less than in a music video. Anastasia's voice is perfectly serviceable; it's a nice, husky instrument with some real power to boot.

Eurovision 2011: Ukranie's Entry: Mika Newton: Angel
2:12 AM
Published by MDS
Being Ruslana the only Ukranian winner, Mika Newton has a heavy weight over ger shoulders! But with a voice like that, it shouldn't be hard for her! Mika is not only beautiful but has great pipes to back that, with a great raspy almost rocker tone. The song, is wierdly set in a circus, I'd like to know what is that about but it still makes some sense, it's not that wierd after all. Things look good for Ukranie with this great song, who knows? Maybe Mika is the winner!

Eurovision 2011: Belgium's Entry: Witloof Bay: With Love Baby

OMG! What an amazing song! I absolutely adore when only vocals are used and they've done an amazing job with this! This is so musical, and with muiscal I mean it seems that this isn't sang acapella. I love how their voices merge, it's so harmonical. This is definitely one of the best songs I've herad, I don't doubt that I'll impress everyone! Will this be Belgium second win? I hope it is! And if it's not, I'll so buy thier album when they release it! Mind blowing!

Eurovision 2011: Moldova's Entry: Zdob şi Zdub: So Lucky
1:25 AM
Published by MDS
Where to start? ... Firstly, Moldova has never won Eurovision, nor will if they keep bringing this songs. Secondly, ska punk? Really? That's your best act? I'll give you points from bringing something different but this is bad. It's really bad! Well, I could go on but I won't. Overall, the song is repetitive, shouty and has horrible lyrics. Another song that shouldn't have been here!

Eurovision 2011: Netherlands's Entry: 3JS : Never Alone
1:01 AM
Published by MDS
Formed by Jan Dulles, Jaap Kwakman and Jaap de Witte, oh, I got their name now! (Laughs), this dutch band will try bringing the crown back or at least make it to the final after six failed attempts of even classifying. 3JS has had a really successful carrer and this will surely give that a boost. With a sweet rock song and their charm, it'll be a shock if they are cut in the semi-final, this song deserves a 10 place at least. They are breaking their semi-final curse after all!

Wow! What an amazing case of missvoting! What an awful choice Cyprus! This is even worse than Jedward and that says a lot! The horrible voice, the out dated sound, the wierd video, this can't get any worse, oh wait, it can, yeah, that just happened. Worst Eurovision song ever!

Eurovision 2011: Romania's Entry: Hotel FM: Change
12:12 AM
Published by MDS
I'm going to save the vampire jokes for myself, though they may actually be appropiate here, come on, those fur coats? That's like a giant sing on their heads! Well, the lead, David Bryan, is actually British, but his friends aren't, just saying ... Having only achieved a 3rd position two times, Romania is hoping that their fellow vampires will take the crown back home with thier song "Change", a powerful pop song, great vocals and cool instrumentation. Well, maybe they can win this time, after all they can hypnotize the audience into voting for them. And I was saving the jokes for myself ....

Eurovision 2011: Macedonia's Entry: Vlatko Ilievski: Rusinka
09 May, 2011 9:25 PM
Published by MDS
After three unsuccessful tries for Eurovision, Macedonians new hope is Vlatko Ilievski, a well known actor and singer in the country. Well, Macedonia will have another deception this year. Despite the songs clear reflection of their national music, it fails to impress the regular listener, that is, the non Macedonians. Vlatko looks incredibly creepy and out of his mind in this video and her voice is too raspy, and I usually enjoy raspy voices, but this is too much! If Macedonia ever wants to win this, they really need to step up their game and stop bringing mentally insane people as their picks ...

Eurovision 2011: Bosnia and Herzegovina's Entry: Dino Merlin: Love in Rewind
8:50 PM
Published by MDS
With a very successful carrer in former Yugoslavian countries which spans for almost 30 years, the bosnian singer, Dino Merlin, is hoping to win the crown for his country, which has always advanced to the final but never has won. Will Dino be the first Bosnian winner ever? Unlikely, but possible! With this pop rock tune and his amazing soulful vocals, he may actually have a shot of taking it all! He may need to defeat some of the favourites but I think he can actually achieve a good position with this, let's hope he does.

Eurovision 2011: Slovakia's Entry: TWiiNS: I'm Still Alive
7:48 PM
Published by MDS
Having already appeared in Eurovision 2008, as background dancers for Tereza Kerndlová, TWiiNS definitely know the preassure of performing live for all Europe. Now they are back with their own performance, marking Slovakia's 6th participation. Their parents must be glad that they had twins, cause now they've two great singers! The song is a bit, well, it's actually really cheesy and almost annoying. But their voices are actually really sweet and soft, plus the song is really catchy, I'm singing it as I write!. Do I think they will win? Well, they may make it to the final, but not win the crown.

Eurovision 2011: Austria's Entry: Nadine Beiler: The Secret Is Love
3:05 PM
Published by MDS
Having only won Eurovision one time, in 1966 with Udo Jürgens, and following a long list of defeats, Austria's hoping that RnB/pop singer and winner of Starmania, an Austrian Idol like show, Nadine Beiler will be the one who finally takes the crown back home after 45 years. But is that possible for her? No, it's not. She's got a great voice but the song is really cheesy and a typical love power ballad. The only good thing in the song are her almost effortless high notes. I don't doubt that this song and her upcoming album, which is released May 13, after her performance, will be a success. But not in Eurovision.
