I'm currently looking for some new writers in order to expand the blog given that I can't post the amount of things I'd like to. So if you are interested in writing about anything related to music (news, TV shows, album reviews, introducing artists) just drop me an email to musicisthedoor@gmail.com and we can discuss some of your ideas.

X Factor UK 2012: Top 10 Perform: Halloween Week

Photobucket
Another week, another slightly disappointing result as MK1 left us against Kye sones in the sing-off but hopefully Halloween week will finally see some of the deadwood such as Rylan head home. However, already, it's not without its' controversies as an announcement this afternoon revealed that Lucy Spraggan will receive a bye into next week's show because of an illness. Diana Vickers anyone? It's Time To Face The Music!

X Factor UK 2012: Top 11 Perform: Club Classics

Photobucket

Well the show really is digging its' own grave at the moment isn't it? After a promising start, they ditched Carolynne and then last week, Melanie, two amazing acts gone in two weeks over two ridiculous acts, Rylan and District 3. It doesn't help that Louis and now Tulisa seem to think the 'sing-off' doesn't really hinge on the singing part. Melanie literally blew District 3 off the stage and then some more in her sing for survival yet apparently we'd much rather see dull, old-fashioned, generic boybands than bluesy, authentic rock and soul singers like Melanie who was also very likable and down to earth. Anyway, we also have to lay some of the blame to the teenagers who are using the new, ridiculous voting system to get their votes in for all the 'well fit' teenage singers. Obviously and sadly, ears don't develop fully in puberty until they age of about 16 or 17. Anyway, moving on, we still have a few stand-outs like Jade and James left, if either leave tonight, I'm going to throw something at my TV hoping it will go through the screen and knock one of the producers out. With club classics being tonight's theme, how relevant will the songs be? Not very relevant is the answer. Expect to hear Lucy singing original song 'Club Song', Jahmene belting out 'I Will Always Love You' and District 3 tackling club classic 'One Thing'. Oops, think I let the cat out of the bag ... It's Time To Face The Music!

X Factor UK 2012: Top 12 Perform: Love & Heartbreak

Photobucket

Well what can be said about last week's show other than that it was shameful? What an absolute farce, there's no way in hell that Carolynne deserved to go and certainly not in thos circumstances, against Rylan of all people. I need not just blame the public alone as obviously producers knew what they had to do to produce the desired result, change the voting format so people can vote for their favourites before anyone has sung, give her a strange VT, make her sing a country version of a dance-pop song and then make sure the most gullible judge takes the vote to deadlock. Unless you haven't noticed, I'm not very pleased. Hopefully tonight, as the remaining twelve contestants perform 'Love And Heartbreak' songs, we see the RIGHT result come tomorrow night, I won't be holding my breath.

X Factor UK 2012: Top 13 Perform: Heroes

Photobucket

We've already met twelve of our top thirteen acts after Tulisa, Gary, Nicole and Louis chose their contestants for the live shows in last week's Judges Houses but for one of Adam Burridge, Times Red, Amy Mottram and Christopher Maloney, it will be second time lucky as the winner of the wildcard vote will join the other contestants in the line-up. With the theme celebrating the OIympics Success this summer with inspirational songs and songs by musical heroes, who will get gold and who will have a false start? It's Time To Face The Music!

X Factor UK 2012: Judges Houses!

Photobucket
We're nearly at live shows stage! Yes, with just one week to go until the show hits the lives, it's crunch time for each of the judges as they select the three acts they wish to mentor in live shows. With 25 acts through to Judges Houses, 13 will be going home without a place in the lives whilst 12 acts will make the all important stage where the public get a say! Will favourites such as Ella Henderson, Jahmene Douglas, Lucy Spraggan and Carolynne Poole manage to make it through?

X Factor UK 2012: Bootcamp!

Photobucket
So with auditions over, the UK X Factor rolls on as the contestants hit Bootcamp which was not held in London for once due to the 2012 Olympics. With countless contestants making it through auditions, Bootcamp is really the point where the judges seperate the serious contenders from the also-rans. So expect tears, tantrums and shock exits!

X Factor UK 2012: Auditions 6

 Photobucket
We're already near the end of the auditions stage of The X Factor as Gary, Tulisa (or Tulisha according to one of last week's auditionees), Louis and the assortment of guest judges including permanent judge Nicole Scherzinger and whilst we've seen plenty of talent, I'm still hoping for a few more standout auditionees in the last double bill. So tonight as auditions hit London, Manchester and Glasgow and Rita Ora, Leona Lewis, Mel B and Anastacia join the panel, will we see the winner tonight?
