Sky Ferreira: New Album Update + "Blue Jeans" Cover

Sky's been teasing her debut album since 2009 but that never really happened. Our MDS Sound of 2011 10th placer is finally ready for the album now, three years later, and this time, it's for realz! The album will be titled "Wild At Heart" and it'll be released on Summer 2012, with the first single of it coming on March. Apparently, Sky is putting the electropop sound aside and now is going for a more Blondie driven one, I won't complain on that one! Catching Up With: Sky Ferreira: As If!, Debut EP!

We all remember Sky Ferreira from the MDS Sound of 2011 (HERE) and since we love her here, what a better way of showing our love by featuring her music?! Sky released several singles in the past, neither of them making a big impact in the charts. On March 1 she released the single "Sex Rule", third of her album. Following this, an EP titled "As If!" is set to be released on March 22, 2011 by Capitol Records, and we all know it'll be a success! The song doesn't have a deep message but it has a great one! It's catchy and funny! This may be the coolest lyric video I've ever seen, seriously, it's amazingly fun! If you aren't a fan, the video in it's own is incredible!

Firstly, I must say I was really surprised that Sky wasn't included in the BBC Sound of 2011. Many people have been pimping her to appear in the list since day one and I think she deserved that spot more than several of the included acts. Signed with Parlophone/Capitol Records, this American artist has been impressing since it's signing back in 2009. With already 3 singles, her debut album is set to be released in January 2011 and it'll surely go #1! Her electropop sound reminds of Diana Vickers or even Ellie Goulding without the glitter. That's because Sky is a more obscure, dark type of singer. Her sex filled troubled songs point out that at least, 17 is definitely a bit strong, but who cares about that! Her music is catchy and she's a good singer, plus she's really unusual and interesting!

"One" is Sky's second single, which debuted on June 1 after her amazing "17". This music video premiered on YouTube on July 2. It's actually a really fun video and song. "I'm not a robot but I feel like one, one, one" it's just stuck in my head, go away! The robotic movements are really cool too and I love the light bulb mic. And she could be the next electronic revelation ...
