I'm currently looking for some new writers in order to expand the blog given that I can't post the amount of things I'd like to. So if you are interested in writing about anything related to music (news, TV shows, album reviews, introducing artists) just drop me an email to musicisthedoor@gmail.com and we can discuss some of your ideas.

Introducing: The Glee Project's Nellie Veitenheimer

Photobucket
Musical TV shows are extremely popular right now. There's Idol, The Voice, The X Factor and many many more. A very interesting show is The Glee Project. A Glee spin off, TGP is slowly becoming even better and more exciting than his bigger brother. It's a crossover between musical and reality show full of bright young talents. The winner gets a role in Glee, the others a chance for the world to see them. And I wanted you to see this year's fan favourite, Nellie Veitenheimer, who happens to be my own favourite too.

The Glee Project: The Final 4!

 Photobucket

With The Glee Project coming to an end, it's time that I make some coments on the final 4 contestants, considering one of them will be on my TV soon as part of the Glee cast. I've been watching the show but I decided not to make any recaps of it in case it bombed, after all, many newcomers I've covered in the past were cancelled, Must Be the Music and Don't Stop Believing anyone? Since I didn't cover it, the ratings have been great and a second season is almost a fact. And with the final coming on Sunday, here's a little something on each of the top 4 ...

Glee: More on Next Season ...

Keeping up with the latest gossip, the new satrs to be apparently guest-starring on the second season are Javier Bardem and Paul McCartney, yes, you read it right! The legendary Beatle and the multiple award winning actor are fans of the show! According to Ryan Murphy, both, actor and singer,  approched him with the desire to be part of the hit show. Bardem is confirmed and Paul is in the works. The spanish will reportedly play a spanish Rock n' Roll singer in the second half of the season. Also back, Jonathan Groff and a possible return of Neil Patrick Harris.

And a bit more on the Britney episode. It will be called "Britney/Brittany" and will feature lots of Heather Morris, who claims she can sing. It will air in September. Murphy says they are doing it in a weird "hallucinogenic" way, very Brittany style!

Glee: Cheyenne Jackson New Cast Member!

Continuing with the Glee reports, Cheyenne Jackson from 30 Rock will be joining the cast in a major recurring role. He was seen singing in 30 Rock and was part of  the Broadway musical Xanadu, which made this the obvious next step. Cheyenne has also released a solo album, "The Power of Two" back in 2009. He will reportedly be joinging as the new coach of the rival glee club, Vocal Adrenaline. As Idina Menzal's character stepped down as it’s coach. However, she'll still appear this season. Others confirmed to appear are Kristin Chenoweth, Charice and John Stamos, who will portray Carl Howell, a dentist and potential love interest for Jayma May.

Glee: Heather Morris: Series Regular!

Great news for Heather! According to some reports, some Glee executives have announced that our favourite blond character is being promoted to a series regular officialy. No reports yet on Naya Rivera's promotion, but I think this is really official, I'll keep searching for an official report. In the meantime, Michael Ausiello reports that Naya Rivera and Heather Morris are being considered for full-time status on the next season. Prepare for much more of Brittany, and stay tuned for her episode, a Brittney Spears dedicated all focused on Brittany. She'll also find love in one of the other characters, Mike Chang, Heather told that:  "We just shot some promo images and they paired me up with Harry [Shum Jr.], who plays Mike Chang. We were pretending to be kissing at prom, so I’m wondering if they’re going to build a story around us... They could have a cute little romance." Remember: Keep your cat out of your diary girl!

Glee: Amber Riley Performs

Glee's Amber Riley has recently performed on an All-Star baseball game in Anaheim, CA on July 13. The talented singer performed one of his best songs in the show "Beautiful" and the National Anthem. I think she sounds even better than in the recorded version, and the video is really beautiful, repetition intended.

The Covers: Like A Prayer

One of Madonna's most popular songs, Like A Prayer, sold over five million copies when  it was released on February 29, 1989 and is now considered one of her best songs. The highly controversial music video at that time directed by Mary Lambert, where crosses were burned, went on to win the Viewer's Choice Award at the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards. I don't see why all that fuss was about, but well. Apart from that, the song is incredibbly written and we should applaud the writers, the very one Madonna and Patrick Leonard.

Glee Wins at the Golden Globes

"Glee" won top TV honors at the Golden Globe Awards on January 17, taking home the award for best musical or comedy television series over such veteran shows as "The Office," "30 Rock" and "Entourage". "Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press and Miss Barbra Streisand," said "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy during his acceptance speech, as the cast celebrated behind him. "We would like to thank all the wonderful people who actually thought a musical would work on primetime televsion."

Though "Glee" won the biggest award in its category, it lost the other three awards for which its cast members were nominated. Leah Michele ceded best actress in a musical or comedy series to Toni Colette from "The United States of Tara," while Chloe Sevigny of "Big Love" won best supporting actress over Jane Lynch. Matthew Morrison, who earlier this week inked a label deal with Mercury Records, lost in the best actor category to Alec Baldwin of "30 Rock."
