Jasmine van den Bogaerde is probably the most promising young talent of the year and probably of the decade. With only 15 years old, this young teenager rose to fame after her cover of Bon Iver's "Skinny Love" went mainstream and peaked to #17 on the UK Single Charts. The song soon started appearing in many international charts and Jasmine became an internet sensation within days. Signed to Warner Records, Birdy, the stage name she chose, released her eponymous album on November 7, 2011, a compilation of heartfelt stripped-back covers which sound like her own, given to the lack of exposure of the songs she chose. Her voice reminds of a younger Adele, she's got a fantastic soulish sound and a really distinctive tone, and she's also proven that she can write great songs with folkish "Without A Word", the only track which isn't a cover and shows incredible writing chops.
