Misha B was the last eliminated contestant and now, we've our top 3! Rock chick Amelia Lily, old fashioned singer Marcus Collins and girlband Little Mix. The final 3 will sing two songs each, then one will go home, then the remaining 2 will perform three more times and then we'll have our winner. Who will take the crown? ... It's time to face the music!
Recap and videos after the JUMP ...
Day 1
Round 1 - Solos
Round 1 - Solos
Marcus Collins
"Hey Ya!" - 4/10 - Big entrance for Marcus, there's a plane on stage and lots of flight attendants. Once more, the only thing big about this performance is the staging. He even reminded me of Johnny Robinson during that performance. His voice sounded so thin it was painful to listen to, well, and to watch also, plus that arrengment was totally wrong.
Little Mix
"You Got the Love" - 9,5/10 - A big entrance for the girls too, entering the stage on motorbikes. This has to be one of their best performances. Not only did they totally reworked this song to fit their style but they are also nailing this vocally. Plus their edge is back, that had a lot of attitude! I loved how the chorus sounded also. Really different from the original version but equally good. This would have been perfect as their winner single.
Amelia Lily
"Ain't No Other Man" - 9/10 - No big entrance for her, are they sabotaging her? Nah, definitely not. Not as good as Little Mix's performance but her voice sounds great during this song. I still wish Kelly would've picked a more current song for her but that was quite entertaining tough.
Round 2 - Mentor Duets
Marcus Collins
"She's Always a Woman" duet with Gary Barlow - 2/10 - I refuse to comment on this awful performance. How boring can you get? I'm asleep ...
Little Mix
"Empire State of Mind"/"If I Ain't Got You" duet with Tulisa - 9/10 - Great duet! This is in a different leage to Marcus and Gary's duet. Great singing, lots of sass and Jesy brought the beatboxing back!! Tulisa works perfectly with them, maybe she should be the permanent fifth member?
Amelia Lily
"River Deep – Mountain High" duet with Kelly Rowland - 9,5/10 - Powerful vocals from both of them. They both have huge voices so this performance was due to be amazing, and it was. Amelia and Kelly nailed the vocals on that song and it just was a perfect performance from them.
Ranking:
- Little Mix
- Amelia Lily
- Marcus Collins
Resluts
Eliminated Contestan:
Amelia Lily
Amelia's elimination doesn't come as a shock. She was much more superior than Marcus Collins during all her performances but Marcus has a stronger fan base than she does just cause he's been on the show for a longer time and the birtish public love the mediocre dudes with a good personality (look at Joe McElderry). I'm still surprised Little Mix are here, who would have thought a girlband will ever be on the XF final?! Now only two remain, who'll be crowned the winner?
Day 2
Round 1 - Song of the series
Our Top 16 finalists minus Frankie Cocozza plus Goldie Cheung take the stage to kick of the final. Highlights of that performance, Misha B, Janet Devlin and Sophie Habibis taking on JLo's "On the Floor" proving how amazing performers they can be and how superior the girls are to the guys. And of course, the great Little Mix and the hilarious Goldie Cheung! That was fun! Haha.
Round 1 - Song of the series
Marcus Collins
"(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher" - 4/10 - Remember the awful pink suit and the cheesy over the top vocals? Well, we are repeating that people! I don't even need to watch this to know it was bad, after all, the first time he sang this song was awful and I don't expect that to change ... His vocals were a bit better, but still atrocious.
Little Mix
"Don't Let Go (Love)" - 10/10 - The girls are spring into the stage. Well, this is a performance worth repeating. This is without a doubt their breakthrough performance and probably their best to date. Their first take on this was incredible, this time around, the girls are total professionals! This is how you put on a show people ....
Round 2 - Christmas Songs
Marcus Collins
"Last Christmas" - 2/10 - This has to be the worst singing ever in a finale. Horrible song choice by Wham!, Marcus looked out of breath, he was extremely pitchy and he showed his incredible inability to sing in tune. The "Happy Christmas" in the middle was just a desperate attempt to get more votes by showing what a nice guy he is and it didn't work cause it made the song sound totally amateur. Just terrible.
Little Mix
"Silent Night" - 9,5/10 - Just beautiful. Great and really tight harmonies and a really clever take on the song. They sounded heavenly during that. The performance was really simple yet totally haunting and the sweaters with their names was a cute touch. Plus Perrie's got a fantastic range! Those runs in the middle, awesome.
Round 3 - Winner's Single
Marcus Collins
"Cannonball" - 2/10 - This has to be the worst winner single to date. The song doesn't fit any of the finalists, and I doubt it would've fit any of the top 16 contestants. Maybe Sophie or even Janet could have done a good job with it but the rest can't. Marcus is proving that. Even worse than "Last Christmas", pitchy as hell and unsurprisingly tuneless. His worst performance to date ...
Little Mix
"Cannonball" - 7/10 - Again, this doesn't fit the girls either. They are definitely sounding better than Marcus but not impressing at all. Whoever suggested this song as the winner's single should be fired immediately. Same arrengmet as Marcus's but the vocals on this one are gorgeous. I wonder how the studio version of this sounds, cause I'm not that impressed by this. And Perrie ... CANNON not canyon ...
Who should win?
Based on tonights performances, Little Mix should definitely win. They were much superior than Marcus in every single one of them and showed they've edge and are incredible singers and performers. Marcus was pitchy and unimpressive, plus totally tuneless. If I'm basing this on their journeys, Little Mix should win also. They have improved the most, from being manufactured in bootcamp to the final, all their performances showed improvement and were vocally outstanding, not the same can be said about Marcus, who's run in the competition is totally the opposite. Will we get another dissapointment tonight or will the talent win over the personality?
And the Winner is ...

The girls really owned this season, they were amazing, maybe Craig Colton was on their level
December 14, 2011 at 7:18 PM
No way! Haha. The girls are much better than Craig

Yeah :D but there are three things for which i give him some credit: audition, 1st live show (that was damn good) and he sang Oasis (even if it was the Leona Lewis cover)
December 15, 2011 at 2:17 PM
Yeah, I agree on that but the rest was pure mediocrity
December 15, 2011 at 6:42 PM
Sadly yes, but still better than Frankie Cocozza :D i seriously don't understand how did he make this far ( i mean Sophie was eliminated earlier)
even Coldplay can't help him
