I'm currently looking for some new writers in order to expand the blog given that I can't post the amount of things I'd like to. So if you are interested in writing about anything related to music (news, TV shows, album reviews, introducing artists) just drop me an email to musicisthedoor@gmail.com and we can discuss some of your ideas.

I'M LOOKING FOR A SWEDISH TRANSLATOR, IF INTRESETED, EMAIL ME
Amanda Persson ultimately said goodbye, leaving the show wildcard-less. In tonight's semi-final, the contestants will dedicate their two performance, one to their fans and one to their loved ones. Expect a lot of tears! Who will shock us? Who will bore us? ...
Recap after the JUMP ...
You can watch the full episode HERE (using what I explained in the comments) All the performances videos are taken from the Idol site too.
Round 1: Fansen
Molly Pettersson Hammar
"Titanium" (David Guetta feat. Sia) - 7/10 - Despite piciking a great song, Molly is lacking on the vocal part, which is surprising given that she's the best singer of the bunch and is always pitch perfect. This has lots of imperfections but her huge voice pulls it off and manages to avoid a full trainwreck, plus the dancers are really interesting to watch, but when the dancers are more interesting than the performer, something's gotta be wrong. - VIDEO
Moa Lignell
"Nothing compares 2 U" (Sinead O'Connor) - 7,5/10
- Glad Moa finally realized she's a sucky singer when she picks uptempo songs so tonight, she's giving us two slow performances. Not as amazing as it could be, in fact, the most off tune she's ever sound, but with Moa it's not about the voice, she's got the quality to deliver emotionally and connect with the public and that's why she's still here despite being the worst singer left. - VIDEO
Amanda Fondell
"Fire" (Bruce Springsteen) - 8/10
- Wow! Crazy hair tonight! I must say, I love it. Haha. Reminds me to Tove's when she performed on the show some weeks ago. I'm not too familiar with this song but I didn't like it much despite Amanda sounded terrific on it. I mean, I loved how this sounded and how Amanda's unique style and quirky sounds worked on it but the song itself didn't make me wanna take another look at it. - VIDEO
Robin Stjernberg
"Let me entertain you" (Robbie Williams) - 5/10 - No thanks ... Why is the public still voting for Robin? He's a great singer but he's old fashioned and boring and his performances keep anoying me more and more as the weeks go by. Please, stop voting! - VIDEO
Round 2: Anhörig
Molly Pettersson Hammar
"If I Ain’t Got You" (Alicia Keys) - 8/10
- Much better than her first performance but something is off with Molly tonight. Mini Joss was back here but there were moments where it just seemed amazing karaoke, specially at the start. She started improving in the second half and from then till the end, she was stunning. - VIDEO
Moa Lignell
"Carry you home" (James Blunt) - 8/10
- Denise already covered this song when she was selected as a wildcard and I must say, her version touched me much more than Moa's. That doesn't mean that this isn't a beautiful rendition, cause it is, just because the song itself is very emotional, but Denise just seemed more intense and her soft vocals worked better with it. Moa's sounds much more folky and I love that but her pitchy moments made Denise's superior. Still, one of my favourite Moa performances. - VIDEO
Amanda Fondell
"True Colors" (Cyndi Lauper) - 10/10
- Simply beautiful. This was the performance of the season, breathtaking! Amanda sang that song so effortlessly and gracefully that she may have just secured a place in the final. The simplicity of the performance allowed us to focus entirely on her unique voice and that moment at the end when she got so emotional she couldn't keep singing just melted me! - VIDEO
Robin Stjernberg
"You raise me up" (Josh Groban) - 4,5/10 - So Robin went from moderately boring to totally boring. Josh Groban is an artist I really can't stand, he's music is really sleepy and Robin's take on it was very yawnable, as proved by the kid in the audience at 1:05. Seriously, I wonder how the rest of the public avoided falling asleep with this. - VIDEO
Results
The obvious choice would be either Moa or Robin. Robin has became boring as the weeks gone by and Moa just lacks vocally. Still, they are both announced safe, leaving great Amanda and Molly hanging. And in the most shocking result of the season, Molly, who was poised as Idol's finalist since the start, was eliminated from the competition, leaving Moa, Robin and Amanda as our top 3! I definitely didn't see that one coming, but after all, it's obvious Molly will have a great carrer after the show is over.

True Colors is one of the best singing competition performances of 2011.

Yawn, now Robin is poised to win the competition. He is a boring artist, but has a skilled voice. He will do a good job with the pre written commercial single. Not my cup of tea though. Thank god for Amanda in the final!
A third place for Moa is perfect. Now she can continue write songs and release an album later next year. Singing for her brother was one of the highlights for me this season. Damn, I would be so proud of her if she was my little sister.
A week ago I was absolutely sure Molly would win this competition. But after tonight’s performances I’m not surprised that she got eliminated. The first song was a bad choice for her – and when she realized the problems she got really nervous. If she had chosen a soul ballad she had walked it.

I liked what Alexender Bard (jury) said to Robin after You raise me up. "A warning Robin, if you continue with these type of songs and performances, you will end up singing for old ladies." So true! :-)
