I'm currently looking for some new writers in order to expand the blog given that I can't post the amount of things I'd like to. So if you are interested in writing about anything related to music (news, TV shows, album reviews, introducing artists) just drop me an email to musicisthedoor@gmail.com and we can discuss some of your ideas.

I'M LOOKING FOR A DANISH TRANSLATOR, IF INTRESETED, EMAIL ME
Mulila was cut when she found herself in the B2 with Tandberg og Østenby. Tonight, we've got one of the most weird, yet incrediblly interesting themes in a while, Mash Up, courtesy of Cutfather, who suggested the theme (each judge suggested one and then the public voted for their fave). Will this be the epic mess it looks like or will it be a stroke of genius? ... It's time to face the music!
Recap after the JUMP ...
Ida
"Fix You" / "Use Somebody" (Coldplay / Kings of Leon) - 9/10 - Very good song choices for her. I was hoping she picked either of this songs and she's now singing both of them together, even better! It's an interesting match but most importantly, it works and her voice sounds lovely with them. Also lovely, her incrediblly adorkable dance!
Nicoline Simone & Jean Michel
"Some Velvet Morning" / "Policy of Truth" og "Strangelove" / "Down by the Water" (Primal Scream / Depeche Mode / PJ Harvey) - 10/10 - Blachman is definitely making them a fabulous group, picking this dark songs is a total win for them cause it works just perfectly with their style. I loved the fact that they were more robotical than ever tonight plus they looked sleek on those black outfits. Side note, I need to stop giving 10 to this two ...
Morten Benjamin
"No Surprises" / "What a Wonderful World" (Radiohead / Louis Armstrong) - 8/10 - This is amazing. I've made it clear that I love his tone and it just works perfectly with this songs. The performance was more "What a Wonderful World" than "No Surprises" thankfully, actually, I didn't hear the Radiohead song at all during the performance, still, I loved every second of it. Yet, he's still not moving, Pernille, you gotta make him move asap!
Line
"Mercy" / "Rolling in the Deep" / "Bad Romance" / "Crazy" (Duffy / Adele / Lady Gaga / Gnarls Barkley) - 8/10 - Pernille really wanted to make a mega Mash Up! I bet she asked Line all the songs she wanted to sing and then she make her sang all of them together. Despite it looks like a trainwreck on paper, it actually wasn't that bad. It wasn't her best performance for sure but she delivered a strong performance even having to sing this crazy mash up. I liked it though, it was interesting at least, a proper Mash Up indeed!
Tandberg & Østenby
"Teardrop" / "Within You Without You" / "Born This Way" (Massive Attack / The Beatles / Lady Gaga) - 6/10 - I really don't see how this could work. The way they are singing "Teadrop" is way too slow, it's got a jazzy vibe but it's not quite working for me. "Born This Way" was slightly better and the way they incorporated it to the song wasn't the dissaster I was expecting it to be. I don't know, it wasn't that bad but it wasn't very good either. I suspect they may end in the B2 once more, and I hate that, cause I really like them.
Sveinur
"Misery Business" / "E.T." (Paramore / Katy Perry) - 8/10 - I'm surprised this performance worked as well as it did. Paramore and Katy Perry shouldn't work together but they definitely did here. "ET" turned into a rock song was surprisingly really strong and despite some of his stage movements were kinda corny, the performance was still enjoyable and interesting.

Eliminated Contestant:
Tandberg & Østenby
It's starting to look like a trend now, once an act ends in the B2 and is saved, it doesn't surivive another week. That happened to Tandberg & Østenby, who were cut when they found themselves in the B2 with Morten. It's a shame, cause the girls had a lot of talent and really beautiful harmonies but yet, the two of them had indeed the weakest performances of the night and it wasn't a shocker to see them there, what was a shock was Blachman sending his own act home over Morten, who he claimed deserved to make it to the final. However, if this trend continues next week and if Morten doesn't give us something different, he'll probably be the next act going home. And regarding the Mash Up theme, do it again next year, cause it totally worked!
