I'm currently looking for some new writers in order to expand the blog given that I can't post the amount of things I'd like to. So if you are interested in writing about anything related to music (news, TV shows, album reviews, introducing artists) just drop me an email to musicisthedoor@gmail.com and we can discuss some of your ideas.

Vote after the JUMP ...
Dolcenera vs Emma Marrone
In this new duel, two reality series contestants face off against each other. Dolcenera first compited in San Remo's 2003 newcomers section, which she went on to win but she only achived comercial success when she won the music competition "Music Farm". Emma on the other hand, first compited on Popstars in 2003, a show she won, and formed the band Lucky Star. The band failed to attract enough fans and disbanded. In 2009 Emma tried another competition, Amici, which she also won, leading to her current successful carrer.
Dolcenera's debut, "Sorriso nucleare", was a chart failure, main reason why she auditioned for "Music Farm". Her first successful album came with "Un mondo perfetto", which charted #4 on the italian charts, her highest charted ablum so far. Her newest album, "Evoluzione della specie" which includes her San Remo's 2012 6th placer "Ci vediamo a casa", made it to #15 when first released on May 2011 but now that the album is getting a re-release, so there's always hope that it'll go up.

Emma has had a relaively more successful carrer than Dolcenera, with both her albums, "A me piace così" and "Sarò libera" placing #2 and #1 respectively. With her beautiful rasp, Emma's two participations on San Remo, in 2011 and 2012, earned her the second and first position, the latest with her song "Non E' L'Inferno", a song that also became a hit on the charts. There's definitely a lot of promise on Emma, who has become one of the biggest stars in Italy in less than three years and keeps on growing.

So who will it be? Dolcenera or Emma? Remember, you just have two days to vote!
