I'm currently looking for some new writers in order to expand the blog given that I can't post the amount of things I'd like to. So if you are interested in writing about anything related to music (news, TV shows, album reviews, introducing artists) just drop me an email to musicisthedoor@gmail.com and we can discuss some of your ideas.

I'M LOOKING FOR A DANISH TRANSLATOR, IF INTRESETED, EMAIL ME
Last week Phuong & Rasmus were the first eliminated act, leaving Blachman with two acts left in the competition, (by the way, be sure to check the interview with Phuong HERE) The final 8 contestants will now perform danish hits, a week I've learned to love as the years go by (I initally hated it). Who will be leaving us tonight? ... It's time to face the music!
Recap after the JUMP ...
Morten Benjamin
"København" (Ulige Numre) - 8/10 - This sounds very similar to last week's "Titanium", not a bad thing but I think Morten needs to bring some diversity if he wants to win. His voice is fantastic and that alone will get him far but the slow arrangements and the soft vocals can get boring really soon, fortunately, that hasn't happened yet.
Mulila
"Søvnløs" (Burhan G) - 8/10 - Surprisingly, this sounds really good. Her last performance was a mess and she deserved to be cut with that, but she wasn't, and now she's back with this. I'm glad she did. I've never been her fan but that was kinda beautiful, her voice sounded amazing and she managed to keep it real simple without oversinging, maybe there's some hope for her after all ...
Sveinur
"Surprise Me" (Tim Christensen and the Damn Crystals) - 7,5/10 - Sveinur is very good but his performances are always imperfect, and I mean that in a bad way. He gets the notes wrong and sings out of tuneat parts, usually at the start, and then he starts improving. What he needs to do is sing great from the start. And leave the rocker aside, go the Thomas way instead, it'll fit you much better.
Tandberg & Østenby
"The Void" (Trentemøller Piano Version) (Darkness Falls) - 9/10 - They are both playing the same piano. Enchanting performance, they left me in a sort of trance and that also happened to the audience. I love them more and more with every song they sing, they are flawless. And I also love Blachman, who is also flawless. He should mentor all the categories, he's the best.
Line
"Glemmer dig aldrig" (Svenstrup & Vendelboe featuring Nadia Malm) - 10/10 - Once again, I'm greatly impressed by Line, I can now see why Pernille picked her over Kristel. This is definitely her best performance to date, it's possibly her "moment". This sounds very Medina-ish, which shows that Line has a great chart appeal and a very contemporary sound. I'd love to see what she does next! (Also worth noting, the original song hit the #1 position after she performed this)
Nicoline Simone & Jean Michel
"Somersault" (I Got You On Tape) - 9/10 - Could they be the Danish Arcade Fire? Maybe that was Blachman's inital idea when he decided to pair this two cause that's what I've been thinking since they performed Arcade Fire's "My Body Is A Cage" last week. This week is equally outstanding, Nicoline Simone's a really deep tone which blends perfectly with Jean Michel's thinner tone. I love how dark their performances are ... One of the best groups this show has seen.
Ida
"Nothing's Wrong Song" (Ida Gard) - 8,5/10 - "Skinny Love" should've been her best performance but I'm actually digging this one much more. Ida looks really fierce in that outfit despite she's singing a sweet song. It sounds quite good but Line totally stole the show tonight and this pales in comparisons with it. But great improvement from Ida tonight!
"The Second You Sleep" (Saybia) - 8,5/10 - Glad they gave Katrine the closing spot, she deserved it after they screwed her last week. Unfortunately, I don't know if that will be enough for her cause after last week she needed a major comeback. This was quite beautiful, specially that tree behind her and her voice was top notch, I loved how it worked with this song. However, I'm not sure it was the comeback needed to advance, I'm just hoping the public will be backing her as much as she deserves it.

Eliminated Contestant:
Katrine
Oh well, we saw that one coming, didn't we? Katrine was already in the B2 last week and she was supposed to avoid it this one by closing the show with a great performance, unfortunately, her B2 fellow contestant, Mulila, also delivered a great performance, her best so far, so when it all came down to Cutfather, he decided to keep the latest, who had only been in the bottom this week. A pity Katrine is leaving us so soon.
