The Voice of Vlaanderen Season 1: Top 24 - Part 1 - Perform!

The battles are now over and it's finally time for the liveshows! The contestants will give their best to remain in the competition but in the end, only one will take the big prize home. Tonight Team Jasper and Team Koen will be performing and unfortunately, two acts from each team will be leaving us. Who'll be the first one out? ... This is The Voice!

Wim Vandenberghe
Big Love (Fleetwood Mac) - 7,5/10 - VIDEO - He's made a strong and sensitive version of this Fletwood Mac hit. The stage looks very impresive too and it made his performance look better than it was. Vocally, he was really good, and Alex and Jasper seem to think the same.
Zusjes Vinken
Bang Bang (Nancy Sinatra) - 9/10 - VIDEO - I just fell totally hypnotized with this three girls. This is an example of simplicity, showing how you can succed with so little on stage. I like their style, it seems very natural, and nowadays, it's something very atypical, so I'd be glad if they make it thorugh.
Mayken Hoessen
You And Your Sister (This Mortal Coil) - 6/10 - VIDEO - They've created a nice atmosphere here and her voice is really sweet! She's delivering a really nice performance, I see her a little bit tense though, not as relaxed as she should've been to give a natural performance. She's trying to show her feelings to the audience and she's kinda getting it, it would've been better if she relaxes a little bit more but not bad at all!
Maxine Eeckeloo
I Can't Make You Love Me (Adele) - 8/10 - VIDEO - Maxine has a powerfull voice but I think she still needs to have a little more control over it but she's doing really well. She has improved her body expressions since The Battles, although there's one other thing she has to change, she closes her eyes too much. Anyway, a charming performance!
Charlotte Buyl
I Follow Rivers (Lykke Li) - 4/10 - VIDEO - Charlotte's version is, in my opinion, a low quality interpretation of the song. Her attitude is quite ok but her voice is a little flat, more strength could have made the performance look a little better.
Glenn Claes
I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man (Prince) - 5,5/10 - VIDEO - This rock song is not the best to show his potential but he has already won many points from me, he's young, he's cute and we all know that has a lot to do with the pop industry. He's very energic and it's bringing a lot of life to the stage. He started well but I don't think he should continue in this path. I think he's out of tune in the chorus but the backing singers covered him very well. Not my favorite tonight ...

Eley Van Hemelrijck
Señorita (Justin Timberlake) - 4/10 - VIDEO - Right from the start, I see he doesn't fit so much in this outfit and I really don't like so much his performance. Maybe it's the song or all the performance, if I was him I would have put a little bit more energy into it. He's not convincing me at all tonight.
Bert Voordeckers
White Room (Cream) - 7/10 - VIDEO - I'm not liking the first part of the performance so much. It's true that his style is very defined but it seems he's suddenly had a lack of strength. His voice sounds good in the chorus and the lowers notes are being a problem for him, as usual.
Els De Martelaere
Brass In Pocket (The Pretenders) - 5,5/10 - VIDEO - Els has a special deep voice but I'm noting she's having some problems with the song. She's out of tune at parts and that's not going to help her much. Besides that, she has been very natural and that's her strong point!
Pistice Yoka Mpela
It Girl (Jason Derulo) - 8,5/10 - VIDEO - Pistice is showing her RnB voice really well. He even dares to make a dance show, plus his voice is not so affected and that's totally cool! He looks a lot like Chris Brown. He's even trying a falsetto. He gets all my respect for trying this in the first live show!
Dirk Cassiers
Make You Feel My Love (Adele) - 7/10 - VIDEO - Dirk's starting much better than in the Battles. It seems he's not having problems with the low notes either and that's really a strong point. Plus his deep voice can charm a lot of ladies.
Stephanie Oclin
Weak (Skunk Anansie) - 7/10 - VIDEO - Stephanie was the one saved by Koen in the Sing off, so I'm sure she will try her best with this performance. Although she's not in tune at times, she's giving the song a really special charm and energy with her voice. She is being so confident and energic, not thinking about anything else but giving a great performance! She even got a standing-o!
