I'm currently looking for some new writers in order to expand the blog given that I can't post the amount of things I'd like to. So if you are interested in writing about anything related to music (news, TV shows, album reviews, introducing artists) just drop me an email to musicisthedoor@gmail.com and we can discuss some of your ideas.

Wonder what your favourite XF finalists are up to? Well, this is the post for you! After the jump, you'll find the latest updates on some of the best finalists the show has had!
Rebecca Ferguson
The lovely Liverpudian is definitely one of my favourite XF contestants ever! One of the best voices in the competition, she knew how to charm us with her deep soulish voice. After the final, it was reported she had been signed by Simon Cowell's own label, Syco. One month after, it was reported she had signed a joint deal between the aforementioned and Epic! Great news for her!! Epic has helped shape the carrers of JLS and Olly Murs, making the latest more successful than series 6 winner, Joe McElderry. Will Rebecca find more success than Matt?
One Direction
After the announcement of them being signed by Syco and a reported 2 million pounds invested on them, it's not surprise that Simon is really looking after his beloved boyband. The not so good singers are stated to release their debut single on March 13, 2011. I guess that are some good news for their fans!
Cher Lloyd
XF's favourite brat was also one of Syco's signments. There's a lot of work put on this one, she's been working on the US and there is a big amount of names on her album, Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, will.i.am. For excited fans, Cher's album will come faster than ever! The debut is stated to be released on August 22, 2011 and it's now available for pre-order!! Don't know if it's official, but the image below is probably the cover!!
Pre-order the album HERE.
Mary Byrne
The final act signed by Syco, big voice songstress Mary Byrne is currently in works of recording her debut album with Nigel Wright, who has worked with her all-time hero, Shirley Bassey. Accordingly, Simon is spendind a million pounds on her album and mentor Louis Walsh is helping her pick the tracklist which is said to include covers of Shirley Bassey, Dusty Springfield and James Browns's "It's A Man's World".
Aiden Grimshaw
The most intense male contestant XF has had was certainly the shock elimination of the year. Many people had pimped him to be in the finals, so him coming out 9th was a huge surprise. Fortunately, Simon made the decision to include him on the tour and Aiden is now rumoured to be joining Syco is he impreses in the tour, which I'm sure he will. After the tour, Aiden is stated to head on a solo tour in May. He will play six dates across the UK. The tour kicks off in May 10 at the Newcastle Academy and continues in Oxford, London, Liverpool, Birmingham and finishes in Sheffield. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, January 31, priced £10.
Belle Amie
Probably this won't be a surprise given that they were formed at bootcamp but Geneva Lane has decided to part ways with her fellow band mates, Rebecca Creighton, Esther Campbell and Sophia Wardman. She twitted: "It is with great sadness that I must announce that I have left Belle Amie. I have not left my ambitions behind and I hope you will all still support the girls and myself, I want to apologise for this decision and I want to thank you all for your support and hope you will continue to support me as I move through my journey. It's been a very difficult few weeks and I wish the girls every success." The three remaining girls have announced that they'll continue with the band, now going as a trio.
