I'm currently looking for some new writers in order to expand the blog given that I can't post the amount of things I'd like to. So if you are interested in writing about anything related to music (news, TV shows, album reviews, introducing artists) just drop me an email to musicisthedoor@gmail.com and we can discuss some of your ideas.

Jordis Unga, RaeLynn, Jesse Campbell and Ashley De La Rosa were all sent home in last week Quarter final. Team Adam and Team Cee Lo will take the stage tonight in order to impress the public enough to make it through. Who'll make it tonight? Who'll face the axe? ... This is The Voice!
Recap after the JUMP ...
Katrina Parker
"Jar of Hearts" - 8/10 - She looks even more like Adele tonight. Fortunately, I don't care how she looks cause her voice is a winner for me. She's also a lovely lady which gives her some extra points. I love her tone but there was something missing in that performance, maybe a little more connection. I'm still hoping she's here next week.
Mathai
"I'm Like a Bird" - 6/10 - This song choice won't work. It sounds like a good idea but it's really not. And just as I thought, it's definitely not working. She's got the most unique voice left but the acrobat behind her was distracting and the focus was on him and not on Mathai. It also seemed to distract her cause her voice wasn't spot on, she took some liberties with the melody that I'm not sure were appropiate and she hit some bum notes thorughout the performance. She's still got a lovely smile.
Tony Lucca
"...Baby One More Time" - 5/10
- Tony is giving this song the WGWG treatment. This trick has gotten really old by now. Adam calls it a "wild idea". It's not. Honestly, Matt Cardle did it way better, way better than him. This is just ok but it lacks intensity and the dancers/chorus behind him totally ruined what would've just been a decent performance.
Pip
"Somewhere Only We Know" - 3/10 - No bow tie tonight, that will probably send him home ultimately. The bow tie was the best about him, it gave him an interesting edge over his competition. The audience votes for the bow tie, not for his voice. Getting real now, the piano part started well enough but then he turned this beautiful Keane song into a school play trainwreck. Don't you have to study Pip? Go back home ...
Jamar Rogers
"It's My Life" - 7/10 - I'm not sure I'd have picked this song for him but he's actually delivering. He's a powerful singer and he's got a big set of pipes. He can almost nail everything. However, the focus isnt' on his voice but on his backstory. Why don't you leave the crying behind and give your voice the spotlight? If he does that, he'll make it to the final.
James Massone
"Just the Way You Are" - 1/10 - Ladykiller #2 is on full swing tonight! Ever thought Stefano Langone was super corny? Well, James is even cornier. He could have a good voice if it wasn't for his cheesy corny attitude. Just go home and finally get laid, after all, that's why he auditioned for the show.
Cheesa
"I Have Nothing" - 6/10 - Why Cee Lo?! Cheesa needs to be singing some contemporary tunes but instead he's giving her some really old fashioned material. She's not doing justice to the song either. She's got a big voice but it's not enough for this song. Better than last week but still not stellar. She'll be making another trip to the bottom tomorrow.
Juliet Simms
"Cryin'" - 8,5/10 - Oh! Juliet looks just like she did back on the Automatic Loveletter days now. Blonde definitely looks hotter on her. OMG! What's up with the wings?! SO DISTRACTING! She's nailing it as usual, though I prefered "Roxanne" to this. It was much more gritty. Feathers falling from the sky! A litte too much? I wished she had just kept it simple tonight.

Mathai - "Cowboy Casanova" - 6/10 - What the hell was she thinking? This sounds awful in paper and in execution. Honestly, Chelsea Sorrel did better than Mathai and that's just sad cause I really loved her tone. She should have done something like "Ordinary People" to stay in the competition. Now, she's going home.
Katrina Parker - "Perfect" - 6,5/10 - Ugh, this is as bad as Mathai's previous performance, though I'll give Katrina the edge. She's obviously nervous and it's affecting her voice. Her vibrato sounds goaty and the song choice wasn't appropiate for her voice. I really hope Adam picks her, though I love Mathai too.
Cheesa - "Already Gone" - 5/10 - Not the best song for her but at least it's contemporary. Her voice is quite flat though, too monotonous for me. She needs to bring something different to the table and unfortunately, she's not delivering tonight. There's no way Cee Lo is gonna pick her over Juliet.
Juliet Simms - "Torn" - 7/10 - I was wondering how could this work with rocker Juliet and surprisingly, it did just fine. Much better than Cheesa, Katrina and Mathai. Pitchy at parts but it was definitely quite interesting. I still want her to go back to "Roxanne" next week and hopefully, she'll make it to the final.
