Music Video: Adele: Someone Like You

Photobucket

The beautiful "Someone Like You" has finally get it's music video! The video is quite simple, just shots of Adele walking round Paris in black and white but the amazing vocals of the song match up for the lack of special effects the video has and it's just stunning. I wonder how they managed to make Paris completely desolated, it certainly was quite crowded when I visited, but that's one of the things that make this video even better, you almost feel how lonely she feels and it just makes it simpler and prettier.

Music Video: Anna Abreu: Stereo

Photobucket

Winner of the third season of the finnish Idol in 2007, Anna Abreu has easily became on of the most successful finnish female singers at the moment with her electropop sound that has scored three #1 and a #2 album for her. Her latest album, the disco driven "Rush", was released on March 30, 2011, and it immediatly charted #1 on the finnish charts. "Stereo" is the third single from the album and it also has a wonderful music video to accompany the great upbeat track. With Anna as the rebelious nun in a convent, the mini film includes a hilarious nun choreography and some nun lesbianism, which makes a great story, even if it sounds a little weird ...

X Factor Australia 2011: Top 11 Perform: Party Anthems

Photobucket

The top 12 performed last week and it was Cleo Howman who said goodbye after a luckluster sing-for-your-life performance against Jacqui Newland. She was my favourite in this competition and now I'm a bit lost on who I should back now. Tonight it's "Party Anthems", in one of the worst themes ever and the contestants will be forced to sing sucky songs. Who will fail? Who won't suck? ... It's time to face the music!

Music Video: Nabiha: Trouble

Photobucket

Danish RnB singer Nabiha is getting ready for her debut album "Cracks" international release, now titled as "More Cracks", after her move to Sony. Including 4 new songs, all being in rotation on Danish radios, Nabiha is now ready to take the world by storm with her unique and fresh sound. The new single is titled "Trouble"and let's face it, it's bloody great. It reminds me a lot to her debut single, "Deep Sleep", which is probably one of the best songs she's put out. Well, this is as great as it. Her vocals are flawless, the song is really catchy and the video is powerful! One of the best songs I've heard in a while.

Aqua: The Band Behind "Barbie Girl" Is Back!

Photobucket

Danish-Norwegian band Aqua is finally back after almost 11 years without new albums since their 2000 release Aquarius. And in case you are wondering, yes, they are the ones behind "Barbie Girl", which is their most known song to date. They split in 2001, only to come back together in 2007 realizing that they are ment to be together. Their third album "Megalomania" is just days away from their October 3 release and it'll definitely feature many of the sounds that made this band famous. The electropop dance sounds are higly predominant in their single "Playmate to Jesus" and the toyish voices in "How R U Doing?" remind of their classic sound. But it's their latest release "Playmate to Jesus" which shows a lot of promise. It doesn't remind of their previous material and it shows a much more mature sound and band, plus it's a great change!  Will "Megalomania" be their big comeback after all? Well, we'll know soon but things look good for them.

Music Video: Matt Cardle: Run For Your Life

Photobucket

XF 2010 winner Matt Cardle is back with probably one of the best debut singles by any of the previous XF winners, besides Leona's "Bleeding Love". I was a fan of Matt during his XF run, yeah, I didn't want him to win it all but he's definitely a really talented singer and performer. "Run For Your Life" is his major debut following his successful Xmas #1 winner's single. Will this song score another #1 for the young star? Well, it looks like it will. The song was written by new XF judge Gary Barlow and is set for release on October 7, being followed by the album release, "Letters", one week later on the 14. The song is definitely in Matt's vibe, it's a really cool soulish sound and Matt's voice sounds amazing throughout the whole tune. Some of the notes do sound a little too strained but that's what made Matt popular during the XF, so why not including that in his album? I'm not ashamed to say I'm excited for his album ...
