The long awaited dates and categories of the first edition of The Soul Awards arrive!!
Dates:
As December releases wouldn't have entered, the awards have been changed to January 2010.
The first round of the votation will begin on December 31, 2009 and will end on January 10, 2010.
The second and final round will begin on January 11, 2010 and will end on January 21, 2010; being the winners announced.
In the first round, of all the entries for each categorie, you will be able to vote for your favourites, and then the 5 most voted will continue to the final round.
Then, in the final round, you will vote for one of the 5 top-vote-getters to decide who is the winner of each categorie.
Categories:
There will be 24 categories, they are:
*Best Newcomer: aka Best New Artist
*Tune of the year: The best song
*Soundtrack of the year: The best album of the year of any genere, not a soundtrack necesarily
*Lyrics of the year: The price goes to the songwriter and it is awarded to the best written song, no matter how good or bad it's sang
*Idol of the Year: The award will go to the best Idol/X Factor series participant of the year, this means, American Idol, Australian Idol, Latin American Idol, Deutschland sucht den Superstar, Nouvelle Star, Swedish Idol, The X Factor (England) and any other Idol/X Factor series which aired on 2009.
*YT/MS Singer of the year: The award will go to a YT/MS singer who is considered the best.
*Classical Singer of the Year: Best Classical singer, both men and women
*Best Classical Album: The best classical album in terms of voice, lyrics, production, etc.
*Country Singer of the Year: Best Country singer, both men and women
*Best Country Album: The best country album in terms of voice, lyrics, production, etc.
*Indie Singer of the Year: Best independent singer, both men and women
*Best Indie Album: The best independent album in terms of voice, lyrics, production, etc.
*International Singer of the Year: Meaning a non American/British singer.
*Best International Album : Meaning a non American/British album.
*Jazz Singer of the Year: Best Jazz singer, both men and women
*Best Jazz Album: The best jazz album in terms of voice, lyrics, production, etc.
*Pop Singer of the Year: Best Pop singer, both men and women
*Best Pop Album: The best pop album in terms of voice, lyrics, production, etc.
*R&B Singer of the Year: Best R&B singer, both men and women
*Best R&B Album: The best R&B album in terms of voice, lyrics, production, etc.
*Rock Singer of the Year: Best Rock singer, both men and women
