I'm currently looking for some new writers in order to expand the blog given that I can't post the amount of things I'd like to. So if you are interested in writing about anything related to music (news, TV shows, album reviews, introducing artists) just drop me an email to musicisthedoor@gmail.com and we can discuss some of your ideas.
The Voice Of Ireland: Jamelia set to replace Brian Kennedy for Series 2!

I bet you weren't expecting to hear anything about The Voice Of Ireland until January but with Blind Auditions set to be filmed at the end of October, RTE have finally announced the coaches line-up for the second series with just one coach set to depart and to be replaced by a British R&B superstar.
Jamelia, best known for hits including 'Thank You' and 'Superstar' will be joining Bressie, Sharon and (unfortunately) Kian for the second series of the Irish version of the popular talent show when it hits our screens at the start of next year, replacing Brian Kennedy who cannot return to his role as a coach due to scheduling issues apparently. Hopefully Jamelia will be able to do a good job in her role as coach because although Brian was better than Kian, his song choices were often quite dull and dated compared to fellow coaches Bressie and Sharon (Corr) who tried to change things up a bit with different arrangements.

Thank god! Brian was the worst

The Voice of Ireland's first season was sooo dire. It didn't help that the coaches had no rapport whatsoever among themselves and with the contestants.
I was okay with the winner Pat but I find the Hunchback Conor dude weirdly more interesting. But I was really rooting for Elliot and Nollaig at that time. Very distinct voices but unfortunately I don't think their coaches had any good idea what to do with them thus the rather bad song choices.
I think The Voice of Ireland needs a major overhaul. It looked cheap but worse, it was just boring.

I agree with both of you although I thought Kian was worse than Brian as he was just utterly dislikeable. I do agree about the rapport between the coaches though, Bressie and Sharon appeared to have a good rapport but you could tell that Brian and Kian clearly didn't get on very well, they had genuinely no chemistry. I thought Pat was a disappointing winner although the final was very poor overall with Vanessa being the only contestant I thought had an exceptional voice from the top 4. However, my favourites from each team were Nollaig, though I also loved Kellie from Sharon's Team, Conor from Team Bressie, Elliot from Team Kian and Sinead from Team Brian.
