X Factor Philippines 2012: Top 5 Recap

Last week we finally saw the awful Kedebon Colim leaving the competition when he faced Daddy's Home in the final showdown. I've no doubt that no one will miss him. Since we are already down to the Top 5, I've decided to include all the remaining acts into this post, so it's basically a recap now. The final 5 will be singing "Revival songs", which would be a cover of a cover. I know, weird and boring. Who picks this themes?

X Factor Philippines 2012: Top 6 Highlights

Exquisite Joan Da left the competition last week after failing to impress once more and ending in the B2 along Allen, who arguably delivered her best performance yet. For the remaining six contestants, the theme is songs by Eraserheads and Rivermaya, two Filipino's popular groups during the 90s. I've not many expectations for tonight but hopefully, someone can impress me.

X Factor Philippines 2012: Top 7 Highlights

Boyband Take Off left the competition last week, when they faced Joan Da in the B2, who arguably, gave her best performance to date. There's only 1 Group remaining, 2 Girls, 3 Boys and 1 Over. The remaining 7 contestants will be singing songs from the 80s, a boring and predictable theme, though it should give us some good performances.

Boring Modesto Taran left the competition the past week, with even his own mentor voting to eliminate him. This week, the contestants will be singing original pinoy music and 8 will become 7. Will a new fave emerge tonight or will an old fave continue its race to the top?

X Factor Philippines 2012: Top 9 Highlights

To my shock, AKA Jam, one of my favourite acts on this show, left the competition after they ended in the bottom along Daddy's Home. I was truly expecting the judges to save the girls, or at least the public, but it wasn't meant to be. I hope the girls continue making music together, though it's unlikely. With that out of my system, the remaining nine contestants took on their idols last weekend and one more contestant left the competition and to my surprise, I was very pleased with the result.
