Samantha Jade: "Soldier" Out Now!

Even if "Firestarter" wasn't able to set the charts ablaze, it still got a respectable #9 charting and went on to become Sammi's second Platinum single. (I've included the music video since I never posted it) Now she's back with her DNA produced third single, "Soldier", out today (November 15), and she's better than ever. Not only does Samantha look awesomely hot on the music video but she also sounds incredible on it. Inspired by the recent split with her boyfriend, she channelled all that anger and heartbreak into this killer to-be hit. "I was in the middle of getting through (the break-up) and I'm still not over it," she said "I was so sad and I wish someone had fought harder for me. I wish it had been 'The Notebook', we built a house and waited 10 years for each other". Samantha can next be seen on Seven's INXS mini-series, "Never Tear Us Apart", in which she plays Kylie Minogue. Her second album is expected to hit the stores around the same time, in February.

X Factor Australia 2012: Samantha Jade's, Jason Owen's and The Collective Winner's Single Out Now!

Samantha Jade was ultimately crowned the winner last week after finding herself in the B2 three times during the season beating Jason Owen and The Collective, who came in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Now that the season is over, you may want to find something else to fill the void until the next season comes or The Voice AU premieres, so, in case you are feeling some withdrawal from the lack of the XF AU this week here I give you full studio versions of the winner's singles plus my take on them and a link to buy the songs. Unfortunately, Bella Ferraro, the early front runner and my winner prediction, got the boot last week after she found herself in the B2 against boyband The Collective. In the end, it was the audience who decided Bella's fate, sending her home with the least amount of votes. Tonight, the remaining 3 contestants will fight for your votes for the last time. Will it be country boy Jason Owen? Boyband The Collective? Or pop diva Samantha Jade? ... It's time to face the music!

X Factor Australia 2012: Top 4 Perform: Power and Passion

Only 4 remain after Shiane Hawke finally hit the bottom against The Collective and was sent packing by the judges. Tonight is the semi-final and each judges has one act each but in the end, only 3 will remain and a judge will miss getting to the final. The theme for today is Power and Passion, "one to get your heart pumping and one to pull your heart strings" according too Luke. The contestants will be singing two songs so the pressure is higher than ever. One misstep and your out ... It's time to face the music!

The unthinkable happened when sexy voiced Nathaniel Willemse faced popstar Samantha Jade in the B2 last week. The former Idol contestant was the one to face the axe and Guy was left with only on Over in his category. Since the judges've been constantly complaining about the mentors song choices, tonight they'll have to pick a song not for their acts but for another contestant. That should be interesting. ... It's time to face the music!

Frontrunner Bella Ferraro found herself in the B2 with returning group Fourtunate last week but luckily, the judges were wise enough to save her. That means a fantastic group left the competition and Shiane and Jason both got to stay in the competition. Will it finally be the night one of them gets the boot? ... It's time to face the music!

Soul singer Angel Tupai was sent packing after ending in the B2 last week with Samantha Jade, who was also in the B2 for the second time. Tonight, the remaining 7 contestants will be singing songs from the past 5 years, so we can finally expect some current songs from The Collective and Jason! ... It's time to face the music!

Carmelo Munzone returned to the competition only to be eliminated three weeks later, but that's better than not even being a finalist, right? The theme for tonight is the 80s, which despite being completely boring, doesn't seem to be disappearing anytime soon. Will someone succeed at reworking a classic? Will we witness another trainwreck? ... It's time to face the music!

X Factor Australia 2012: Top 9 Perform: Legends

Last weeks result show was sublime. Justin Standley was finally sent home when he faced judges fave Angel Tupai in the B2, leaving us with an almost perfect Top 9. We still need to get rid of Jason, but there's always time for that tonight. The theme this week is "legends", much like the heroes theme on the XF UK first liveshow. We'll have Madonna, Coldplay, The Beatles and much more today, you don't want to miss it! ... It's time to face the music!

We were in for a major shocker last week when judges favourite What About Tonight ended in the bottom 2 with Over Nathaniel Willemse. The judges decided to go to deadlock, revealing that WAT had received the least amount of votes, thus leaving the competition. The Top 10 will be singing, coincidentally, top 10 hits. Who end up being a one hit wonder? ... It's time to face the music!

There's been lots of controversy this week. After Adil Memon's elimination, he and fellow contestant Josh Brookes went on a live stream with fans, in which Josh made some unfortunate comments, so the producers decided to disqualify him. Since Adil was also part of it, he wasn't allowed to come back either and then mystery began. Who's gonna replace Josh? Will it be one of the JH boys such as Matt Gresham or Carmelo? Or will it be a someone totally different, like Vendulka? ... It's time to face the music!

We witnessed some very shocking decision during last week's Judges Houses, for example Nat sending Vendulka (check my interview with her HERE) home and Ronan picking 3 boybands as his Top 3. Tonight, the Top 12 will perform for the first time live and tomorrow night, one of them will be saying goodbye. Who'll step up to the challenge? Who'll fail miserably? ... It's time to face the music!

Super-bootcamp proved to be one of the toughest challenges yet, with multiple contestants, including fan faves Bella Ferraro and Josh Brookes, crashing under the pressure and forgetting their words. Tonight, the remaining 24 contestants will be jetted to NY and London for the Judges Houses, my favourite stage of the competition. Who'll impress the mentors and make it to the liveshows and which fave will crash and burn? ... It's time to face the music!

X Factor Australia 2012: Series Premiere - Auditions 1

After The Voice took the country by storm, it's time for the XF to try it's luck once more. The show had a highly successful series last year, managing to claim the #1 spot rating wise throughout it's run. Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Guy Sebastian, Mel B and Ronan Keating are all back in the panel and so is Luke Jacobs as the host. Honestly, we had quite a lackluster bunch of contestants this past year, with the exception of Three Wishez, Declan Sykes and winner Reece Mastin, so hopefully, we'll get a superior cast this year. So without further ado ... It's time to face the music!
