BBC's Sound of  2011 winner, Critic's Choice Award Winner and also MDS Sound of 2011 5th place, dark popstar is back with a brand new music video!! Jessie J is releasing her debut album, "Who You Are" on March 28 but in the mean time, we have the release of the new amazing video of her second single, "Price Tag" which features B.o.B. and was released on January 28. The video, filmed mainly in a pink background, is, well, wierd. The mony tree was hilarious and her puppet like and doll outfits were sick!! And that's why I love Jessie! She's not the typical pop singer, nor has a typical voice. She stands out for being wierd, crazy and that's what I look in a star, craziness! I must confess I was dissapointed Clare Maguire didn't win the BBC Sound of, but this girl has an incredible voice and will surely made it big in both sides of the ocean!!

Yesterday, January 28, 2011, a brand new season of the XF Netherlands took off! With it's four judges returning, Eric van Tijn, Stacey Rookhuizen, Angela Groothuizen and Gordon Heuckeroth. Hosts, Wendy van Dijk and Martijn Krabbé, also return after working on new successful show, which Angela also judged, The Voice of Holland. As I've done with the danish XF, I'll just recap the highlights, meaning that contestants who weren't speciallly good are not going to be featured. All contestants posted here have moved on to bootcamp.

With bootcamp over, the remaining 29 acts are now moving to the next stage of the competition, judges houses!!!  The next two weeks, the contestants will be put on trial to see who has what it takes to make it to the liveshows. Tonight, the contestants will be whittled down from 10 to 5, to then be cut to the Top 3 in next weeks show. Pressure is on! ... It's time to face the music! On a side note, I've found my danish collaborator!! His name, well nickname, is bong, with a lowercase, his name is clickable and directs to his YouTube channel, why don't you give him a look? He was a contestant on this year's XF but didn't make it. Still, he will certainly be an excellent collaborator, being able to bring us insight and also some translation!  bong's collaborations will be in a different colour, red, so you can know who is who. Idol hits country's musical city by excellence! Many big country stars came out from this city, is the next idol here? Nigel seems to hope so, cause he has been pimping one of the contestants like crazy, saying she could be as Kelly. Steven is also shown saying they have found a winner here, will this be true? ...

Idol heads to cheese city!!! This is the first time Idol has come to Milwaukee in 10 years! And of course we have cities illustrous contestant, Danny Gokey! Nigel pipmed this city as the best audition city ever, we'll have to see if that's true ...

Muisc mogul Simon Cowell stopped by Oprah Winfrey's new show of her OWN network, "Master Class", in which he talked extensively about his life and carrer. It's a really, really interesting interview. We all know what an interesting man he is but this gives us a lot more info about him. He talks about his starts as a mail man at EMI, an AnR and then a salesman, how he's ego got out of control, his bankrupt and how he overcame that. It also features Idol and Britan's Got Talent footage. The show aired yesterday, January 23.

This is the first X Factor Denmark's recap!! For all my lovely danish fans, here it's! This post features all the auditions plus the bootcamp. With a revamped judges panel, Remee's out, after coaching 3 excellent contestants, as long as newster Soulshock. Last season's other newster, Pernille Rosendahl returns, as well as Thomas Blachman, who had taken a season's break, being both joined by Cutfather, a well known producer who has worked with Pixie Lott, Christina Aguilera, Jordin Sparks, Robyn, etc. Also returning is Lise Rønne, who had taken a year break due to pregnancy, replacing Signe Muusmann.

Denmark's X Factor intrigues me. It has a misterious aura around it, don't know why, but I just feel it. Like all that happens is cold and supernatural. Still, it has an amazing quality, great contestants, a good stage and an equally good judging panel. My only critic is the number of contestants. I hate when they olny put 9 through to the liveshows, guess it's good if it's the first season but in the third? I hope they really get rid of it.  The talent poll, pretty impressing. I found myself supporting male contestants, and I never thought I would do that. My feeling after this season ended, I'm eagerly awating for the fourth!

AI hits cajun musical New Orleans!! Since I love this town, just ignore my super excitement but it was time Idol went back to this iconical city! Do you expect some Katrina sob stories? Let's hope not, but it's a strong possibility. Let's see what this jewl has in store for us ...

Holland's hit show, "The Voice of Holland", by reality creator John de Mol, who is the executive producer with Mark Burnett, is set to hit American coasts accordingly in May 2011, so it probably won't compete with any rival show, as X Factor ignagural season in the continent will premier in September, and Idol ends in May. Still, since I love both formats, I'll cover both of them, as well as XF UK, Australia and possibly New Zeland. So that are 5 shows, will I be able to do that? I'll try hard at least.

It's finally here!!! Season 10 of AI starts now! After lots of rumours and mystery, the departure of Ellen DeGeneres, Kara Dio Guardi, and most importantly, the biggest attraction of the show, Simon Cowell, the new panel has been unveiled! Randy Jackson and Nigel Lythgoe return, joined by music stars Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler! They will also team with Jimmy Iovine, who will serve as an in-house mentor to the contestants. My opinion, this season will be amazing!! With a "revamped" format, or at least that's how they want to paint it, having added days to Hollywood Week and a yet uncertain new semifinal round, which will include wildcards, this season promises to overshadow last season failure, keeping a bigger focus on the talent! Keeping it short, after 10 years, this season feels brand new and that never happens after that amount of time.

3rd Place: Aurea: The portuguese jazz sensation claims the 3rd spot after a strong campaign from Portugal! A clear front runner since day one, it's definitely a surprise she's not the winner! Still, this young talented lady has a great future ahead! And I'll surely follow it! Check her post HERE.
4th Place: Sunday Girl: The former pet shop girl, is getting really popular! Known by her covers and now by her own music, there's no doubt that we are going to see a lot from her, if not an incredible album! She wasn't a BBC act but she's 4th at this one! Better than nothing!! Check her post HERE.
5th Place: Jessie J: The english singer should be over the moon, she was crowned the winner of the BBC Sound of 2011 and also awarded with the BRIT Critics Choice, plus coming 5th in the MDS Sound of 2011! This pop/rap star is here to stay ... Check her post HERE.

Incredible Ellie Goulding is releasing her sixth single, title track "Lights", in the coming months but in the meantime we have the amazing music video, which premiered on January 16. "Lights" is definitely my favourite track from the album, it's glittery, shiny and the lyrics are fabulous, so it was no surprise it become my fave. And the video doesn't dissapoint. Other video in the post is Elton John's "Your Song" a song that Ellie has undoubtedly made hers and that sings even better than the original artist, sorry Elton but it's true. The song was released on November 12, 2010, with it's music video premiering on November 14. Also here, Tinie Tempah's and Ellie's collaboration of "Wondermen", which is yet to be released. On a sidenote, Ellie is up for two Brits, British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act, which she's likely to win ...

 The incredible Joe's Place Blog has done an amazing work with this year Idol spoilers.There are only 2 contestants left to add to the Top 40 list, which may have been disqualified. So, props for this amazing job! Major update on the Top 20 after the jump!!

With the release date of Luce's debut announced, 31 March, 2011, and the inminent cancellation, it hasn't been officialy announced yet, of the French version of Idol, which will now be replaced by the X Factor, I thought it was about time I covered one of the best seasons the show has had. A really talented Top 15 and some of the bests performers ever, the show left with a bang! The ranking is based on my favourites and not on how they ended in the show.

As you probably figured out, the amazing Clare Maguire was robbed in the BBC Sound of 2011, only coming in a miserable 5th place! Still, I believe this precious soulstress will outsell all the acts on that list and probably all in my list too. Here we have the debut of her second single's music video, "The Last Dance", which is released on February 20, 2011, being the album, "Light After Dark" released February 28, 2011, which means we'll have to wait a long time since we hear that amazing record, and yes, I consider almost two moths a long time. Still, we have this fantastic video to entertain ourselves, with probably some of the best vocals and visuals of the year, and we're just starting ... The song is actually really Adele-ish, big powerful soul voice. The video is a masterpice, it's already on my list of best music videos of 2011!
