Idol Norge 2011: Auditions 3 and 4 Highlights

Two more episodes of one of my favourite shows right now, despite I can't understand a thing of it! Who will be the breakout star tonight? Jenny proved to be the best last week, who will take that title now?

Auditions 3
Catharina Vu (16) - She looks really nervous but still manages to give a decent cover of "Valerie". Her voice isn't the best but she can sing some notes. I kinda liked it actually, she was adorable. A lot of improvement needed and I don't see her as a finalist but she's not atrocious at least.. - VIDEO
Marlene Tjossvoll (19) - Wow! Big soulful voice! Not expecting this at all, plus she's really cute, which is a great plus. Reminds me a bit of Christina Aguilera but much better, everyone can top her nowadays. This girl and a big jazz standar will make magic. - VIDEO
Lars Møll Kleiven - He's got a really raspy folky voice, which seems to be a requirment to audition for this show. Oh, and being blond. His got a certain rock vibe and I think he mentioned it in his clip, I just hope he doesn't go crazy and over the top in his upcoming performances. What he did right now was kinda great. - VIDEO
Amanda Therese Goonetilleke (22) - Another scouting and this time is the turn of Gunnar. I seriously don't get why they do this. If they want to be on the show just go there and audition like a normal person. Back to Amanda, her voice is great and really big but again nothing that special that would make me want to go there and hand her the ticket. - VIDEO
Magnus Bokn (22) - He reminds me a lot to Atle Pettersen, and if you don't know who he, as I expect, just google him. He's a rock star wannabe? For sure but I kinda liked that vocally. - VIDEO
Christian Beharie (17) - Oh, really cool jazzy voice. A bit creepy but there's something really intriguing in this one. I wouldn't mind a whole song from him. And he's not blond!
Mino Rabenja (17) - Nothing that great but still better than Catharina. And I totally support the short clip here. Not special enough ... - VIDEO (Magnus, Christian and Mino)
Hilde Selvikvag (19) - One side of her face looks paralized but still, she's really beautiful. Her voice is sweet, really cute. Probably one of the best auditions of the episode. And the biggest twist here is that she's singing in norwegian, which adds another layer to her. So I just have to guess that was an emotional performance. Haha. It looked and sounded like one at least. - VIDEO
Auditions 4
Jan Ivar Bartvedt (20) - Here comes the annoying audition of the day. The kid is really a major idiot. He thinks his voice is special, it's not. It's really boring. Very theatrical. Judges liked that. Ugh .. Here comes the idiot who comes out of the audition with a sad face ... - VIDEO
Jenny Langlo (17) - Interesting look, will her voice match it? Well, it does. She's got a really unique tone. I can't think of any comparisons right now and that's a good thing. She may actually be one of my faves now. That was amazing. - VIDEO
Snorre Ryen Tondel (18) - Beatles never goes wrong. And Snorre proved that. Judges love it so much they sing along with him. I liked his voice but it was a bit generical. - VIDEO
Ane Marit Holas (18) - I didn't expect such an interesting voice from her! She's got this jazzy really cool tone. She can nail a song. Watching the whole audition, her performance was really beautiful and so heartfelt! Marion got really emotional with her, such a peaceful unique voice! - VIDEO
Henrik Mortensen (16) - He's singing "Stayin Alive" and unexplicably, it's really good. Again, not a special voice but he actually made a horrible song sound good enough for an audition. That was a good cover! - VIDEO
Shadi Christina Yazdani (17) - She's performing "Price Tag", which is just not the right song for anyone but Jessie J. She's sounding really shaky and her notes sound really weird. Still, her voice is somewhat special, and so think the judges, who send her through. - VIDEO
Isak Knutsen Heim (15) - He's the youngest auditionee we've seen. So there's no much hope here. However, he kinda manages to stay away from the Bieber route and delivers a surprisingly intense performance. I never thought I'd say this of a 15 y/o but I liked that a lot. That was a shocker. Haha. - VIDEO
Linda Maria Letizia S. Odesgaard (25) - It's Hans's turn to audition a contestant. And he's auditioning her on a plane. This is kinda hilarious. Haha. She's a great singer actually. Probably the best of this unusal auditions. That one was the only one that was worth it.
Johan Voldronning (26) - He looked like a major joke, until he opened his mouth and wowed the judges with "Lean On Me". It wasn't that good but it was kinda impressive to hear that voice coming from him. - VIDEO
