I'm currently looking for some new writers in order to expand the blog given that I can't post the amount of things I'd like to. So if you are interested in writing about anything related to music (news, TV shows, album reviews, introducing artists) just drop me an email to musicisthedoor@gmail.com and we can discuss some of your ideas.

X Factor US 2011: Top 9 Perform: Giving Thanks

Published by ePastorJames
What a perfect time to have a double elimination in this competition: On the week of Thanksgiving! Gee, how swell. Bet these two acts have a lot to be thankful for, eh? Well, we know that the top 7 sure as hell did!
The Top 9's theme was GIVING THANKS. And it was just as sob story-ridden and mind-numbingly Ambienesque as you can imagine. It took me forever to muster up the strength to complete this recap, and once you have seen all of the performances, you should be able to grasp just how come....

Interview: Jenny Marlene Nettum

Jenny wowed everyone with her unique folky sound when we first saw her when she showed up to audition for the latest Idol Norge series and she immediately became one of the frontrunners, ultimately making it to the Top 40. Unfortunately, a combination of early spot and dark song choice ended her run on the show, sending her prematurely home. Jenny recently took some times to answer some questions for us, in which she hinted the possibility to return to the show and what's next for her. Well, I'd say go for it!

Unfortunately, I've not been able to find the videos for this week show. I'll update the post as soon as I found it.
Marlen Tjøsvoll was eliminated last week, ironically, after her best vocal performance. She was the favourite to leave for weeks but that shouldn't have happened the night she sang the best. Now, only 7 remain, and tonight, they'll take on Norwegian tunes. Who'll shock us tonight? ...

MDS Sound of 2012: Amanda Mair

She's the latest signing of Labrador Records, the prestigious little swedish label who includes the likes of Acid House Kings and Club 8 among their roster. Described as a "Swedish
Dusty Springfield produced by Kate Bush", this 16 y/o popett is probably Labrador's biggest hope for the coming year. With her enchanting icy vocals which reminds of fellow label mate's sound, this young raising star released her debut single, "House" on June 8, 2011 followed by "Doubt" on October 18 and with an album expected to hit the stores early next year. Do you think this frosty little Dusty will be the next big thing? I think she can ...
