I'm currently looking for some new writers in order to expand the blog given that I can't post the amount of things I'd like to. So if you are interested in writing about anything related to music (news, TV shows, album reviews, introducing artists) just drop me an email to musicisthedoor@gmail.com and we can discuss some of your ideas.
Idol Sweden 2013: Finalen

Erik Rapp, the best act and front runner, was eliminated last week, leaving mediocre Kevin Walker battling against popette Elin Bergman. I've been avoiding doing this recap and that's probably spoiling a lot already but since I've done such a great job not abandoning the other shows mid-season, I decided to complete this one as well.
Recap after the JUMP ...
Round 1
Kevin Walker
Where the Streets Have No Name (U2) - 1/10
- I don't expect to be blown away. I don't expect an imaginative song choice. I don't expect him to have stage presence. What I do expect from a finalist is the ability to stay on pitch. Kevin was not even able to do that.

- Elin Bergman

Round 2
Kevin Walker
Say (John Mayer) - 2/10
- "I was extremely annoyed by this performance. Not because it was bad but
because it was so uninspiring. It felt like he was trying to charm the
audience with his constant smile while also trying to mask the fact he's
a mediocre singer" Has he done anything but flirt with the camera this season? Week 2 and he was already doing it. He's not grown a single bit. It's sad.
Elin Bergman
Happyland (Amanda Jenssen) - 7,5/10 - "Elin's take wasn't
as great as I was hoping but I believe she delivered nonetheless. It got
too smiley and relaxed at times but when she went for the big notes and
added power, she really shone. That's how the entire thing should've
been, gritty, dark, powerful" While she was a bit more dramatic than when she first performed this, I'm still not buying what she's selling. Elin was barely annoyed when in fact she should have been extremely pissed. Possibly the best performance of the night though. That's how weak this finale is being.
Ranking
- Elin Bergman
- Kevin Walker
Round 3
Kevin Walker
"Belong" - N/A
- Typical winner's single. Only problem, Kevin can't sing. When you've got a bad song but the finalist is a decent singer, you can still do something good. But when your finalist sucks, what you end up getting is pure garbage.

"Dream A Little Dream"

The Fooo
"Fridays are forever"

Runner up:

Winner:
Kevin Walker
Surprise, surprise! Sweden has crowned the worst winner since, well, ever. Good looking football player with absolutely no talent. The moment Erik got eliminated I lost faith in this season but now, I think it's better we all forget it even happened. I'm kinda glad Elin didn't win, now she doesn't have to release that crap single they wrote for the winner. Good luck to Kevin, as a singer, you are a great football player.
