I'm currently looking for some new writers in order to expand the blog given that I can't post the amount of things I'd like to. So if you are interested in writing about anything related to music (news, TV shows, album reviews, introducing artists) just drop me an email to musicisthedoor@gmail.com and we can discuss some of your ideas.
Idol Sweden 2013: Auditions 4

Idol rises from the ashes. After being replaced by The X Factor Sweden last year, which was not only a ratings flop but an overall disappointment, the show that brought us Loreen, Darin, Danny Saucedo, Agnes, Linnea Henriksson, Amanda Fondell, Robin Stjernberg and multiple others is back for another round. Will we find a new star this time?
Recap after the JUMP ...
The auditions continue in Linköping, will the judges find their star here?
Sandra Wikström (23) - "Listen" - This is such a tired choice. The fact that it wasn't pure shouting gave them some extra points and while I don't think her voice is strong enough for taking on this type of songs, she does have a pretty tone. She just needs to know what type to sing, this isn't it. Alexander gives her a no, the other two put her through.
Gustav Bjule - "So Sick" - The guy's got a really smooth tone. A lot prettier than some auditions we've seen, yet they didn't even show his name on screen. Awesome tone, Alexander is so excited he can't contain himself, I totally understand how he feels. That was a great audition, Gustav could use more confidence though.
Yosefin Bouhler - "If I Ain't Got You" - Her voice has got the power that Sandra's lacked. The audition is ok but not original enough. She's got a good range though. As soon as she's done singing, the judges reaction prompts her to start tearing up. Bad guy Alexander gives her a no, while as usual, Laila gives her a second chance. My advice, try not being so predictable.
Mai Ly Sorri (16) - "Stay" - The judges are already tired of the Moa Lignell effect. You know, young girls singing pretty songs with their guitars. Who wouldn't get tired of that? This is by far, one of the best auditions we've seen. Her arrangement of the song is not drastically different but the little touches she made to it were so incredibly pretty. Her voice is also so soothing, I loved it.
Kevin Kelly - "Good Luck" -This looked and sounded more than a joke audition than an actual joke audition. He's not atrocious but I just can't see how the judges decided to put this guy through. He's obviously Slutauditions fodder but still. We just saw Saga Björling, The Voice Sverige finalist, as one of the rejects! Usual scenario, Alexander says no, the Bagges say yes.
Simen Thelander (17) - "Daddy's Baby Girl" - Even better than Mai. This episode, while not filled with talent, has gave us two solid contestants. Simen's voice is really gorgeous, it's also obvious he knows what he's doing with it cause that was a perfect pick for his tone. Really looking forward to what he'll do next. My fave audition so far.
