I'm currently looking for some new writers in order to expand the blog given that I can't post the amount of things I'd like to. So if you are interested in writing about anything related to music (news, TV shows, album reviews, introducing artists) just drop me an email to musicisthedoor@gmail.com and we can discuss some of your ideas.

Last night, the lovely Vendulka returned to the competition, giving us a gorgeous cover of Rihanna's "Stay" which earned her 3 big yeses. This week, we'll have a former Australia's Got Talent contestant and the sister of one of our previous winners. Will they be any good? ... It's time to face the music!
Recap after the jump ...
Recap after the jump ...
Fabian Andres - 17 - "Because Of You" - He started singing when he was 3. He was born in Sydney but his family is from Uruguay. I love how they make Uruguay sound like, given that it's probably the least Latin country in the world. I guess he's never been there, or otherwise he'll know that. Ok ... whatever ... He wants to be an RnB pop singer with a Latin twist. Nice voice, it's quite cool but his dancing makes him look vain. He's perfect for a boy band though. Redfoo thinks he looks seasoned like a well cooked stake. Dannii thinks he's got that thing that guys do in a boy band were they make every girl in the audience think they are just singing to them. - 3 yeses (Nat wasn't present)
Gemma Thorpe - 28 - "Not Ready To Make Nice" - She's a police officer. "Life as a cop can be a nightmare, there's plenty of crazy but finding missing children, solving cases, that's what I love" she says. She wanted to audition for the show because she feels like she's in the right place in her life right now. When she was 13, she had a virus that ate through the nervous system of her left side of the face, so the left side of her face is paralyzed. She started doing some muscle exercises for her face to see if she could bring back that muscle tension. She went to singing lessons and then she just loved it. "It made a bad situation good, singing is my saviour". I love this song and what she does with it is really pretty. I figure it's also a meaningful song for her since the lyrics are incredibly fitting to her story. There was honesty in her voice and I felt it. Dannii claims it was the audition song of the day. - 3 yeses (Nat wasn't present)
Ronan thinks they can find a better winner than Sammi this time. "This is the year, this is the global superstar" he says. Jerk.
Georgie Bannard - 22 - "You Give Me Something" -He got into music when he was very young. He started doing choirs then moved to musical theater. That's were he met his current fiancee. He's played a homosexual trainer, a man eating plant and a pirate. His idea of a good night is playing Scrabble and drinking a cup of tea. "I'm a nervous talker" he claims. Talking about her future wife he says, "if you see her you wouldn't know how I got her, I still don't know to be honest". He's got a perfect tone. Dannii is shocked, everyone must have been as well. There's some potential there, his voice is lovely. Plus he's hilarious. - 3 yeses (Nat wasn't present)
David McCallum - 43 - "Try" - He auditioned 2 years ago. His audition was a mess. "There was no integrity in the performance. Because of that experience I was devastated. I had to face that" he says "as painful as that was, it helped me so much". I thought he should have made it the first time around so that hasn't changed. Not sure about the song choice, maybe something edgier would've suited him better. It wasn't very good to be honest but I think he deserved another chance. Redfoo was crazy about it, he thinks it sounded like something from the old school. Dannii wasn't feeling it as much though, "Good lyrics for you. It didn't move me as much" she says. - 2 yeses (Nat wasn't present)
Our first montage. Carla Wehbe (19) delivers a nice take on "Do it Like a Dude". Rebecca Quinn (21) takes on Rihanna's "Diamonds", impressing Dannii. Finally, Jacinta Gulisano (19) wows with her "You Make Me Feel...." cover. All too short for my liking.
Georgina Mastin - 15 - "Mr. Know It All" - She's auditioning because she really likes singing in front of people. She was born in England and moved to Australia when she was 8 y/o. She's worried about tripping on stage. Oh, and that's right, she's also Reece Mastin's sister. She obviously has Reece's talent. Her tone has a lot of potential, the song choice was wrong, I felt it needed a lot more edge. She needs some coaching but with the right songs she could do great. - 3 yeses (Nat wasn't present)
Taylor Henderson - 20 - "Some Nights" - He's a farm boy. He lives with his dad, with whom he also plays music with. When he left school, he went to work with his dad as a builder. Apparently he performed in Australia's Got Talent before in 2010. His father also competed in it. His dad was the runner up, Taylor made it to the final. Wow, he's got a phenomenal voice, probably the best we've seen so far. Awesome audition, I expect to see him during the live shows. Taylor is one of Nat's favourite things in this competition. Ronan thinks he's a star. I agree with him. - 4 yeses
