I'm currently looking for some new writers in order to expand the blog given that I can't post the amount of things I'd like to. So if you are interested in writing about anything related to music (news, TV shows, album reviews, introducing artists) just drop me an email to musicisthedoor@gmail.com and we can discuss some of your ideas.
X Factor Philippines 2012: Top 4 Recap

Jeric Medina, who was considered a front runner, left the competition last week after yet another average performance. Only 4 remain now and the stakes are higher than ever since only 3 of them can advance to next week's big finale. Who will it be? Balladeer Gabriel Maturan? Cutie Allen Sta Maria? Quirky KZ Tandingan? Or the one group left, Daddy's Home? ... It's time to face the muisc!
Recap after the JUMP ...
Gabriel Maturan
"Boyfriend" (Justin Bieber) - Boys - This was surprisingly better than I expected it to be, specially because it is a Bieber song. The talked part at the beginning was awful but when he started singing I was actually shocked. His voice sounded really strong and for a moment I forgot how mediocre he really is. He then started dancing and that didn't go particularly well. Allen singing a Disney song has more swag than this kid.
Allen Sta. Maria
"Whip My Hair" (Willow Smith) - Girls - First Justin Bieber now Willow Smith? What's going on with these people? Charice may have tired giving Allen some more swag with this performance but the truth is it didn't work. The song is totally one dimensional, repetitive and it didn't let Allen do much with her voice. And why did Charice looked like vomiting when Allen finished singing?
Daddy's Home
"Open Arms" (Journey) - Groups - I feel like I've been repeating myself for weeks now but this guys keep getting worse and worse as the weeks pass. They like ballads, we get that, but there's no need for the to shove dull ballad after ballad into our ears every single week. It's mainly their mentors fault but they aren't doing anything to keep it interesting either. Their time has come.
KZ Tandingan
"Forever" (Chris Brown) - Girls - This isn't very KZ, her outfit specially. Charice is the worst mentor ever, there's no doubt about that but the stylist isn't good either. Wrong song choice for her, her vocals are often beautiful but tonight she was out of breath and pitchy. There were nice moments but it all felt weird, specially the way that song was arranged. She needs to get back to the KZ we love before it's to late.
What did you think of the performances? Comment!
