YADi, whose name is Hannah Yadi, is a young english musician who was signed by Warner Bros. and supported Marina and the Diamonds this year. All this happened after the release of one of her demos, the amazing indie pop tune "Guillotine" which resambles Marina's own music and which got loads of hype around the web. This dark musician really impressed me, and also this poll voters, since the first second I listened to her. It makes me remember my initial reaction to Ellie Goulding or Marina, it's an instant love feeling. Her voice is really powerfull and she does magic with it as seen in her demos. Despite her being one of my top acts here, I'm a little doubty that she'll actually get to release an album the coming year, her deal is too new and she seems the type who won't rush things, still, she's a great artist and definitely will be a star, either in 2011 or later, if not a black hole ...

One of Mercury/Universal latest signings, Northampton 18 year old musician, Rachel Furner, will surely leave her mark in the coming year. Having already toured with Paolo Nutini, Pixie Lott and Justin Bieber and also performing at the iTunes music festival, this girl certainy has the experience, but does she have the talent? Well, she does! With some amazing vocals, as seen in one of her best songs, "Unravel", and an unique style, which includes butterflys and sky blue, Rachel has proved she's more than a cute face. Her bubbly light thin voice, which may not be the most unique, stands out because the way she uses it. She's not going the pop route, she is exploring different styles, "Like Stars" and "Feng Shui", her latest demos, show influence from rap and RnB, while her previous work is a more indish approach. Rachel is a versatile artist and that's what I like about her! I'm eager to see how her album is like!

Probably the most complete artist in this list, Lauren Pritchard, a soul diva in the making and an Universal/Island Records artist, was, is and will be my favourite act featured. In addition to her modelly look, her soul singing, which is really missed nowadays, is so amazing that it's hard for me not to love her. In a world where pop and trash teen songs abund, Lauren raises as a beam of light from all those piles of garbagge and gives a little hope for the real music lovers (as cliched as that sounds). A Jackson, Tennessee native, Lauren moved to London after failing as a reggae singer and starring in Spring Awakening, and glad she did! Imagine the world without the great soul songstress we have here! Her astonishly debut, the appropiately titled "Wasted in Jackson" saw the light on October 25, 2010, with a physical release of February 22, 2011, and has become one of my all time top albums. Which instantely makes Lauren into my all time list of best artists. Also showing loads of talent in songwriting and video making, is something this girl can't do?! It seems there isn't, the question is, is the world as impressed as I am? I think it is ...

Jess Morgan didn't get her artistic name, Spark, because she's fierce or that b word, she's actually named Sparkle, well it's her middle name, which was a bit criminal from her parents, well, at least they gave her a cool name to record with. A 679 artist, the same label Marina and the Diamonds is signed to, Spark isn't the type of artist you expect to see everyday. She's got a retro vibe similar to Marina's but this is a stronger one. Plus her look is nowhere near the steriotypical artist's and that's what I love about her! Her extremly white skin and her bloody lips, if we aren't looking her beautiful black hair, make her a different type of beauty, an old look that is long forgotten. Plus she's got some Kimbra moves there! Her first single with 679, the catchy dark "Revolving" was released on November 12, being preceded by its music video on October 13. Spark is here to prove a point! That music isn't about the looks or the catchyness,(I'm looking at you Ke$ha), it's about the voice, and this girl certainly has the pipes! Will 679 find the same success as with Marina in Spark's debut? I know it will ...

Geffen's biggest new star, the pet shop's best kept secret, Sunday Girl, is definitely my favourite new act for the coming year! Jade Williams earned that nickname by working on Sundays at a pet shop in England and not because she's obssesed with Blondie or something like that. Known by her covers of pretty popular songs, such as Ke$ha's "Tik Tok", and nailing them, Jade will surely be the biggest star next year. Her non inclusion in the BBC Sound of 2011 was criminal!!! She should have won that ... Her voice resambles, once again, Ellie Goulding's but it's a more effervescent and light voice, like a soft sweet melody that the air carries. Dark and wierd will probably fit her too but it's her simpleness what makes her such a fantastic artist. Her apparent lack of vocal power, which makes her sound even purer. Jade's sense of style is even greater. Her music video of "Stop Hey!", her debut single, which is coming out in January 2011 with an album following, shows exactly the kind of artist she's. A fun, dark singer, with a wierd look of the world and an obsession with animals, in the good way. And all her videos are like that, even her covers, all including them in some way. Sunday Girl may even take Ellie down of my top spot ...

Firstly, I must say I was really surprised that Sky wasn't included in the BBC Sound of 2011. Many people have been pimping her to appear in the list since day one and I think she deserved that spot more than several of the included acts. Signed with Parlophone/Capitol Records, this American artist has been impressing since it's signing back in 2009. With already 3 singles, her debut album is set to be released in January 2011 and it'll surely go #1! Her electropop sound reminds of Diana Vickers or even Ellie Goulding without the glitter. That's because Sky is a more obscure, dark type of singer. Her sex filled troubled songs point out that at least, 17 is definitely a bit strong, but who cares about that! Her music is catchy and she's a good singer, plus she's really unusual and interesting!

Sweden is a talented country. Or that's what it seems cause the truth is that most of their artists are electro or disco singers. It makes me think that if I ever visit Sweden all I'll find is models and discos, (not saying that I won't enjoy that). Rosanna Eriksdotter-Munter, or just Rosanna, is of course, Swedish, beautiful and is an electro singer. So my statement is true? Robyn, Annie or even the incredible Tove Styrke all share similar styles and backgrounds, being all Swedish and singing all electro songs. Leaving that aside, Rosanna rises avobe them with her perky thin quircky voice, something that the others don't have. Despite already finding success with Swedish group Play, Rosanna opted to go solo and was recently signed by Popjustice Hi-Fi, yes, the label of that website with which Bright Light x2 is also signed. "Waterfall" was subsequently released as her first single on August 22, 2010 and she's now preparing to release her debut album next year. She seems to tick all the boxes, let's just hope her album shows diversity, although we can already see that on her incredible B-side "Runaway" which is much superior than her actual single ...

The reason why Chris Glover titled his musical project "Penguin Prision" is unknown. Maybe it was the result of a night of excesses or maybe it was his wierd mind. The truth is that we can't care less about the name. This New York musician and DJ is currently putting the final touches on his debut, due out February 2011 via Wall of Sound, while his single, "Golden Train" was released on November 19. Generally DJs are really terrible singers but Chris is an exception to that rule. His voice resambles Bruno Mars's but with an electro spin or even Erik Hassle's, who has a similar style. Remixing several known songs, such as Ellie Goulding's "Starry Eyed" and Marina's "Hollywood" have given this guy sort of a reputation and has garnered him a great fan base. His solo work consists of sweet catchy melodies, such as "Golden Train" which aren't exactly disco tunes but he has the potential to do that if he chooses to go down that route, however, I hope he doesn't, his music is really kewl as it's now. The question is, does the world want another electro singing DJ?

There's something about Neon Hitch that just catchs you, like coffee, you probably started hating it but it's now your best friend. Maybe is her kewl name or her incredible sexiness what brought you here but what really hypnotizes is her high pitched quircky voice. Despite being annoying at first, it becomes really pleasant with the second listen. Growing up as a gypsy and living in India probably resulted in the perfect artist we have now. Signed to Warner Records, her debut "Beg, Borrow, and Steal" is set to hit the stores early next year, but if you can't wait till then, you can always listen to her sick mashups in her MySpace, or even her collaboration with 3OH3! for the Alice in Wonderland movie. She's not only a great singer but she's also a fun one! What she did with the "Billionare" lyrics was insane. Will a gypsy be able to conquer the MDS Sound of 2011? I think she can ...

From TV star to singer is something that doesn't work too good generally. But this isn't the case. Signed with Interscope Records, her singles have been doing great in the charts, such as her smash single "Mirrors". Dark and twisted, her music proves she's not the best singer but she's definitely a great performer! Her debut album, "Perfectionist" is set to come out in March 2011, being all the tracks written by her. Just by looking at her name you know what to expect, a dark violent killing pop track, which will probably kill all her contenders in the charts!!

"Glacial pop with a throbbing undercurrent of humanity" is what reads on their Facebook and it couldn't be more accurate!! This futuristic mysterious australian duo, formed by Edward Nigma (vocals) and Peter Uzzle (music), has been impressing with their sophisticate approach at electro. Their music aims to the stars and that's way they are the first band to broadcast a live gig to space, the question is, who will watch that? They've remained hidden in spacial like costumes throughout their carrer creating much more mystery around them and lots of speculation about their identities, being eventualy signed by Mercury Records. Their eponymous debut is set to be released in January 2011 and it promises to be a glittery album full of synth pop beats from the high space! It should be interesting ...

Beautiful 20 year old Kiwi, Kimbra Johnson has been out there for quite a while now. In 2007 she won an award for her single "Simply On My Lips" and her carrer has been growing since then, resulting in a record deal with australian Forum 5 Recordings. Now she's about to release her debut, "Vows", which is due out early 2011. Her smoky raspy voice and her quircky dancing and faces make her a huge surprise! Nina Simone's influence show greatly in "Plain Gold Ring" in which she does a breathtaking goosebump maker scat, which is repated in many of her performances. Her debut video, a quricky 60s housewives/Barbies themed song, prove why she is so good! She can deal with any theme, any song, any tone, any style! The third and last act to be featured in both this poll and in the BBC one is Redbridge's Jessica Cornish, commonly known as Jessie J. Being signed by Lava Records and Universal Music, this young artist is getting bigger and bigger each day. Current winner of the Brits Critics Choice, many people are also expecting her to top the BBC Sound of 2011, and that wouldn't be too surprising. Her first single "Do It Like a Dude", a sort of lesbian hymn, has gotten to #21 in the UK Charts. Her debut "Who You Are" is to be released on early 2011, while her second single, "Price Tag", which features B.o.B. will be released on March. A really distinctive voice and an amazing rappy style, it was about time than an artist like her appeared! She actually reminds me of Cher Lloyd but with a better voice. And we have another artist for the parade!! The faces she makes in the music video of "Do It Like A Dude" are priceless!! I just love her!! I'm seeing a lot of her in my iPod next year ... If you ever thought you'll never find something wierder than Fever Ray or even the delish Marina and the Diamonds, you were wrong. That's because there's a new freak in town! We can almost do a parade now! Almost ... Jonna Lee was just a simple indie swedish singer who was doing really well with her quirky voice but thought it wasn't enough. Next step was covering her body with some kind of black mud and start filming herself doing strange sounds in viral videos withspread across the web. And that first attempt seemed to work. So she did another. And another. And we have almost 15 videos now!! But the wierd part isn't that, neither her name, nor her sound, there are the videos! iamamiwhoami has created a fantastic C.S Lewis like world positioning herself in the top spot of music conceptualization. Numbers, letters and the repeating phrase "To whom it may concern" all complete wrapping this fantastic gift that has been given to. "Hands All Over" is Maroon 5's third single from the album of the same name, which was released on September 21, 2010. The yet unreleased single's music video premiered on YouTube on December 22, 2010. Being honest, I didn't like it at all. The cartoon theme looks just ok, it's nothing near impressive. We all remember the amazing Rachel Adedeji from 2009's 6th series of the X Factor. The Beyoncé like singer constantly found herself in the Bottom 2, much like this year's Katie Waissel, and she only managed to get the 9th place. Almost a year later, Rachel has just released her first music video of her to be single "Follow the DJ", due out February 2011. Despite she's releasing it independetly, the video looks so labelish! I mean, it actually looks much better than Joe McElderry's first single "Ambitions", who was released by a major label. The colour splashes and the slowmo segments really make it worth watching, even if you aren't her fan, it's so stilish and glamorous that you don't need to like her. Rachel's voice sounds really excellent and it shows she's been working to improve it and to find her own style, she's much quirckier and soulish than ever and that suits her perfectly! Are we wittnessing a Diana Vickers's like success here? You bet it!

Any regular reader knows I'm Crystal's #1 fan, so all I'm going to say here will be just a little biased! My favourite all-time AI contestant, Crystal came as the runner-up to Lee DeWyze in this past season but that didn't stop her from signing with Jive/19. Now, Crystal has released her debut album, "Farmer's Daughter", on December 14, with it's first single, and title track, being released in November. A beautiful music video for it was released on December 16. It features a young Crystal growing into adulthood, all metaphorically implied in an unravelling sweater she holds. A music video which can really be replayed over and over again. The song, as well as "Holy Toledo", is one of the most beautiful songs ever written and they are both my favourite tracks to date! I told you I was biased ...

You may be wondering who the hell is he!! Well, he was one boring contestant who auditioned for American Idol in it's 9th season and reached the Top 20. After this, he auditioned for Korean show, Superstar K2, where he reached the Top 2, losing out to Huh-Gak. Accordingly, he only auditioned for Idol as a preparation for Superstar. Don't buy that at all! If you still can't remember the kid, as it should happen, check his Superstar performance below, where he sang "Man in the Mirror", definitely the best performance I've seen of him. Coming as the runner-up has been certainly benefitial for John. His first single "I'm Your Man", has just premiered on YouTube and it's been getting great reviews. UPDATE 2: Winner's Singles Reveled!
With three days away from the grand final, the finalists celebrity duets have been reveled! Accordingly, Matt Cardle will be performing with Rihanna, and not with Christina Aguilera like it was previously rumored. Insted, she will be performing "Beautiful" with Rebecca Ferguson. Cher Lloyd will be paired with Avril Lavigne, whose song "Girlfriend" was performed by Cher on the Top 7 show will now be paired with will.i.am, who was a judge with Cheryl in Judges Houses, they are rumored to peform Cheryl's and will.i.am's track "3 Words". Finally, One Direction will be performing with Justin Bieber. Who's better than him to sing with five miming mediocre singers? That promises to be a trainwreck! is dueting with Robbie Williams, glad there's no Justin Bieber there. So, what do you thing of the duets? I'm digging Matt and Rihanna and Rebecca and Christina, tough Adele or Amy Winehouse would have been better options for her.
Simon has also reveled each contestant will be performing a different winner's single, especially selected from them. In previous years, all contestants covered the same song, gladly they aren't doing that anymore! And now they are reporting which song each contestant will sing! Cher Lloyd will be covering "Impossible" by Shontelle. Matt Cardle will sing "Many Of Horror" by Biffy Clyro. Rebecca Ferguson will perform "Distant Dreamer" by Duffy. One of the few acts featured in this poll who also appeared on the BBC Sound of 2011, this atmospherical goth trance Brighton's band is a real gem. Their first release "Violet Cries" is set to be released on January 31, 2011. "Marching Song" their first single, October 11, is the perfect song for them. The lead singer has done a magnificent work in this song and I bet she sounds as amazing in all the album tracks. Dark, twisted, and yes, lots of blood. It seems to me that touring with Ellie is been a huge achivement recently, like it's some kind of requirement to get recognized. A clear obsession with religion and a disco/RnB/soul style really work well together. And I'm not being sarcastic. CocknBullKid is a genius act, her style is so unique that it's hard to describe it but she's kind of a disco Rox! Her first single "One Eye Closed" was released on November 8 and is taken from her upcoming debut album "Adulthood" to be released by Moshi Moshi and Island Records. If you felt that Marina and the Diamonds was the only one with a shiny name, you surely haven't heard of Bright Light Bright Light.
