The Voice UK Series 3: The Semi-Final - Top 8 Perform

4 acts left us during last week's Quarter Final, Rachel O'Connor, Emily Adams, Georgia Harrup and Iesher Haughton, and despite the fact the 4 said contestants were female, it's hard to argue this wasn't the right choice. Tonight, the Top 8 will be performing on the just renewed series (for two more seasons!) one more time in order to make it to next week's final, plus The Voice USA coach Shakira will be taking the stage. Whose dream will be crushed? ... This is The Voice!

Sadly, Pernille Nordtrop left us last week after delivering what was, arguably, the best performance of the season. Only 3 remain now, folky Lucy Mardou, funky Anthony Jasmin and pop-star-to-be Henriette Haubjerg, and by the end of the night, one will be crowned the winner. Who will succeed Chresten? ... It's time to face the music!

The Voice Of Ireland Series 3: Top 24 - Part 2 - Perform!

Last week saw the live shows commence as each team fielded three contestants who performed under the scrutiny of their rival coaches and the public vote. Each team was forced to cut one contestant with Pauric, Daisy, John and Kedar being the unlucky four to lose out. Tonight, the other twelve contestants will perform where once again, each coach will be forced to choose one of their bottom two artists to send home. Who won't survive the first cut?

With Kevin busy with school and The Voice of Ireland, yours truly is back at recapping The Voice UK! I'd say I'm glad to do this but we all know I'd be lying. But it's just 3 shows, so maybe I'm gonna enjoy it a little. Tonight, the Top 12 will perform for the first time live in order to get your votes and make it into next week's semi-final. Yep, you've heard that right, in two weeks time, we'll have a winner.

The Voice of Ireland Series 3: Top 24 - Part 1 - Perform!

Twenty four contestants remain in the competition after the battle rounds with each coach having their five remaining acts plus their one steal. Tonight, half of the top twenty four will perform, three from each team. The public will vote for the first time and their votes will be added to the coaches' votes with the top act from each team proceeding through automatically. From the remaining two on each team, one act will be eliminated by their coach. Who will be sent packing?

Steffen Gilmartin was the latest casualty after finding himself in the B2 with fellow Over 23s contestant Pernille. While saddened by his elimination, I can't say I'm pissed at the judges, after all, Pernille is a star that should be rewarded. This week's theme is British music and with it, another act will bite the dust, who will it be? ... It's time to face the music!

Sabina Ddumba: "Scarred For Life"

I knew we were seeing her again! After being inexplicably cut during the Judges Houses of the first and only season of the XF Sweden two years ago (no wonder why it flopped), the gorgeous stunner is releasing her debut single, "Scarred For Life", possibly due to her involvement with the show. All kidding aside, the tune is an emotional soulful ballad with some fantastic, equally heart-pulling mournful lyrics, especially it's surprisingly catchy chorus, "Cuts are getting deeper. You really fucked me up this time. I just can't stop bleeding, baby I am scarred for life". Released via Warner Music, this could very well be the launch Sabina was hoping the XF could give her.

Kristen O'Connor was the first Top 13 contestant to be eliminated from the competition after a decent but unemotional rendition of "Beautiful Disaster". This week the contestants will be taking on songs that remind them of their homes, so again, basically a free theme. Who'll be the second act out the door? .... This ... is American Idol!

Another Under 23 contestant, Fie Winther, left last week after finding herself in the B2 with the other remaining contestant of the category, Henriette. Tonight, the remaining finalists will take on Eurovision songs, given that Denmark was the latest country to win said contest with Emmelie de Forest's "Only Teardrops". Who'll prove worthy of representing their country? ... It's time to face the music!

This week, they'll take on songs that represent who they are as artists, which is basically a free theme. Will they take advantage of it? .... This ... is American Idol!

UPDATE: Final battle episode added
After six weeks of spinning chairs, indecisive contestants and plenty of bickering, things should hopefully become a little bit more mellow as the Irish edition of The Voice reaches the Battle Rounds stage. Unlikely each of the coaches (bar Dolores who has 11) are currently sitting on ten acts. They will pair them up and give them a song to sing together. As per usual, one act will go through to the live shows and one act will go home. However, in a twist adopted from other versions of the show, the coaches are now given one steal. This means that if they disagree with the decision made by one of their fellow coaches to send a contestant home, they can press their button and recruit the act for their team. That act will fill the sixth live show slot in their team. Just like the blind auditions, if more than one coach tries to steal an act, the contestant themselves will have the power to choose. So let's get this show on the road.

Blachman was the first judge to lose an act as his manufactured group Lickety-Split was sent home after a decent "La la la" rendition. Now, the 8 remaining finalists will take on Danish music and one more will be leaving us after disappointing their country. Who will it be? ... It's time to face the music!
