I'm currently looking for some new writers in order to expand the blog given that I can't post the amount of things I'd like to. So if you are interested in writing about anything related to music (news, TV shows, album reviews, introducing artists) just drop me an email to musicisthedoor@gmail.com and we can discuss some of your ideas.
The Voice Australia Season 1: Top 24 - Part 2 - Perform!

4 guys were sent home last week, of course, we didn't know that until this episode but does it really matter? Matt Hetherington, Ben Bennett, Michael Duchesne and Sam Ludeman were all sent home after the female contestants schooled them in their performances. The remaining contestants of the Top 24, that is Team Keith and Team Joel, will be taking the stage tonight and 3 more will be eliminated. Oh, right, that's because Carmen Smith was DQ, more about that in the post ... This is The Voice!

The Voice UK: Season 1: Top 8 - Semi-Final - Perform!
8:55 AM
Published by Kevin Mc Stravock
The Voice UK has FINALLY reached the semi-final stage and there are just eight contestants left, two on each team. So far, some of my favourites including Joelle Moses and Bill Downs are long gone and so we are left with our semi-finalists. If I had my way, the final would be Becky Hill or Vince Kidd (I like both) for Team Jessie, Bo Bruce for Team Danny, Ruth Brown for Team Tom and Tyler James for Team Will, but of course I probably won't be fully correct, we'll see what happens, right now, I have to see the performances.

The Voice Australia Season 1: Top 24 - Part 1 - Perform!

The three battle rounds ended with a bang, with their ratings all topping their respective nights. We lost some great voices such as Casey Withoos, Peta Jeffres, Yshrael Pascaul, Mahalia Barnes and Kelsie Rimmer, who all had great potential and terrific voices and would've been outstanding contestants. Now, only 24 remain but come June 18, only one will take the crown. Will it be frontrunner Karise Eden, blind darling Rachael Leahcar, ex pro skater Lakyn Heperi, bubbly Brittany Cairns or a darkhorse such as Emma Louise Birdsall, Carmen Smith, Viktoria Bolonina and Adam Martin? ... The Voice UK: Season 1: Top 16 - Part 2 - Perform!

It feels like no time since we were watching the judges turn around in their chairs in the Blind Auditions but alas, we're getting closer to the final as Team Tom and Team Will have already been narrowed down to just two contestants per team. So now, we're back with Team Jessie and Team Danny as two acts must go home from each time, I would probably most like Vince and Becky from Team Jessie and Bo and Max from Team Danny to make it through, whether this actually happens has yet to be seen but fingers crossed!

Eurovision 2012: My Top 15 Songs!
21 May, 2012 5:40 PM
Published by MDS
Unlike the previous year, in which I wrote about every entry, this year I'll just focus on my faves and list them on this top 15. And just for the lulz, I also ranked the 10 worst songs. Honestly, I was quite surprised with this year bunch of new songs cause I've liked a lot of them. After Eldar & Nigar were declared the winners with "Running Scared", the 42 entries will now travel to Baku in Azerbaijan in the hopes of taking home the title. The novelties this year: Montenegro is returning to the contest, while Armenia and Poland are withdrawing. Plus Jónsi (Iceland), Jedward (Ireland), Kaliopi (Macedonia) and Željko Joksimović (Serbia), who was the runner up in 2004, are all returning for a second shot at the title.

The Voice UK: Season 1: Top 16 - Part 1 - Perform!

So far, four pretty unsurprising eliminations have taken place, by now we've realised that Jessie hates backing dancers, Tom Jones has met Elvis (not that he hadn't mentioned it before or anything), Danny still does odd bobby head movements during performances and that when Will says something is dope, there may be another meaning to it (I'm saying nothing). With that all over us, it's over to the next round, the Top 16 and with two acts from each team heading home, there is more at stake than before. Let's see what happens.

After the loss of Samuel and Sophie last week, it's Team Danny and Team Jessie who are under pressure to impress as one from each team goes home tonight. Both teams performed last week in the live results show so what remains to be seen is whether they can step it up and do better than some of the stand-outs from last week such as Team Tom's Ruth. Will Jessie and Danny struggle to send one from their team home or will it all become quite clear who is heading home after the results? We'll see!

UPDATE: Episode 6 recap added
After the success of the XF this past year, Australia is getting their very own The Voice. It was recently announced that it will return for a second season on 2013 after the impressive blind auditions ratings and with it's serious star power on it's judging panel (Joel Madden, Delta Goodrem, Seal and Keith Urban), the show will certainly give the XF a run for their money. So without more chatter, let's join host Darren McMullen and move on to the blind auditions ...

So here we arrive at that vital stage, the live shows, the coaches have divided their teams by two meaning they now each have five acts and will soon have the difficult decision of whittling their acts down one by one until each coach has one act. Of course, it's not just up to the judges as the public can now vote. HOORAY! (Or horror if the Irish voting is anything like the UK one). Tonight, it'll be Team Tom and Team Will who are heading up to the stage to face the public vote for the first time. Who will triumph and who will sink like a stone?

After the most shocking results night since last season's departure of Pia Toscano, powerhouse frontrunner Jessica Sanchez came in at the bottom of the barrel vote-wise. While the Judges used their one and only Save of the season and Jessica is back in the game, one cannot help but be concerned about what just happened since Jessica was considered the best hope for a girl winner.
